LeBron just won a playoff series with the highest PPG of his supporting cast being < 11.5. The last team to win a series with a < 11.5 second highest PPG was the Michael Jordan’s ‘88 Bulls

Quote

Bulls top 3 scorers besides MJ: Oakley, Pippen, and Horace Grant, 30.2 ppg on 66/136=49%.

Cavs top 3 scorers besides LeBron: K Love, JR, and Korver, 29.3 ppg on 65/191=34%.

Cavs should have lost to the Pacers, mainly because they are not a good team. LeBron had to carry them and will continue to have to carry them until his teammates show up consistently. Can't blame him when he leaves Cleveland after the season ends.

@pantherphan96 I think you've essentially, and inadvertently, proven Jake's point. Michael won no matter what and he made the players around him BETTER. Lebron disappears for stretches, no one else seems to have a good night if he decides to show up and have a good night, if other guys get involved his stats plummet. People point to it as being a good teammate or trying to elevate others but its just failure after failure on his part... He turned Kevin Love into a smoldering pile of crap for crying out loud

Yeah LeBron is the reason his teammates can't hit open shots. Love is a bum and has been since he left the T'Wolves. Wonder how much of his production there was just pure usage rate.

Michael elevated his game and he elevated the game of those around him. He not only went out and had 40 point games but he was one of the best defenders in the league and also managed to get his teammates involved by using himself to take defensive pressure off of them. Horace Grant, Steve Kerr, Ron Harper, Toni Kukoc.. those guys were good solid players but they were not Ray Allen, Kyrie Irving, Dwayne Wade, Kevin Love, Chris Bosh, etc.

Mike never quit and did everything and anything it took, no matter what, to win. Lebron simply is not on the same competitive level as Michael Jordan. Is he more physically gifted?? Probably. More talented?? Arguably. But the man doesn't have half of the heart or will power that MJ had and its why MJ will always be the GOAT and the rest will always be pretenders. Lebron is about Lebron and always has been. He and Kobe have tried to copy Michael, tried to duplicate his legacy but that's all they can and will ever be, copies.

MJ is an amazing player but its unfair to claim he had no help with multiple HOFs and great defenders/rebounders in Pippen and Rodman. LeBron had a great iso scorer in Kyrie--negated by his terrible defense, an old Ray Allen who played limited minutes off the bench, Wade who was injured frequently throughout the playoffs, and Bosh who wasnt the same player he was back in Toronto.

LeBron will be more appreciated in the years after he retires when people look bad and see how outmatched his supporting cast was by his opponents-- a juggernaut Warriors team and one of the best and most cohesive teams in the Spurs.

I disagree completely. He hasn't done anything that jumps off the page as "wow, this has been done before." I had a friend of mine watch him the other day and he said his game was "boring." in essence.

Your friend is a moron. He's literally set multiple records (most playoff steals, first player to average triple-double in the finals, first player to lead both teams in points/rebounds/assists) in the past few years.

No one is impressed with "bully ball."

set another record with his 4th 40+ point 10+ assist playoff game. not impressed? i'll take the opinions of his peers over a blind hater like yourself:

27 assists and only 2 turnovers in just 2 games of this series... we're done here

It's the Baby Dinosaur's in the Leastern Conference. Please stop kid. You're killing me.

The CJ tweet is hilarious. Because he's destroying Bron at the line. Which he is awful at. Please stop. Don't worry, when he gets to the Finals for the 20th time, and loses for the 19th time. I'll bet you'll bring up the 2007 season where they went to the Finals, and LOST for the first time. But, for some odd reason they brag about it.

It doesn't surprise me. You were raised in this generation, so it makes sense why your generation brags about a man for finishing second constantly when it matters. LOLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

The Raptors should be ashamed of themselves. How in the world can you let yourself get absolutely demolished by a team of misfits like the Cavaliers?

I hate it but Lebron is on another planet right now.  Dude is playing outta his mind.

Man, hopefully the Pels bring Rondo back. Will be tough if they max Boogie, but they have to bring him back.

King James keeps doing amazing things. Hard to believe he’s in his 14th/15th year. Bron getting better while Fat Melo about to spend the rest of his career as a 6th man. It’ll definitely be MJ/Lebron when it’s all said and done.

    • This is factually incorrect. He was a two time Pro Bowler with the Rams and in fact statistically he was better with the Rams in his best season there than he has been with the Lions(could change with this season). Some of his per game stats have creeped into being marginally better with the Lions but there have not been dramatic differences in his play, actually. The biggest reason that McVay and he ended up splitting was McVay didn't think he could win a title with Goff. TBH.....so far he was 100% correct. Stafford almost immediately won them a SB and Goff in a historic run was about 70% of the reason the Lions faltered in the NFC championship game. He missed critical throws all over the first half and throughout the second half that he normally wouldn't. He choked. So, until Goff actually does win a SB...McVay has been right.
    • they have the best defense they've had in a long time...probably the best in the reid/mahommes era.  but i think they are probably the most beatable they've been in a while as well. record doesn't exactly bear that out, but they just don't look as strong on offense as they usually do. lots of reasons for that, like trying to build chemistry with newer receivers, but right now they just aren't as frightening as they typically are. i mean they'll probably win tomorrow, but i don't see them as the strongest team in the AFC right now.
    • He will likely remain unsigned the remainder of this season(barring someone being in a pure QB panic AND making poor decisions) largely due to the cost. I do think he will get multiple offers to be a backup QB and perhaps a couple to potentially start this offseason.  I will continue to beat the same horse over and over.....he should go to a successful team with an established starter. If I were him, go to somewhere like SF, LAR, etc. Somewhere with a successful QB coach and brilliant offensive mind and ALSO a set situation at QB. Ride the pine and adjust for a year or two. Chill and be around better culture. I would suggest the same for Bryce but he will be limited to wherever we can trade him.
