Where is your confidence level?

Last year's team needed a redzone offense.  Too many field goals.  If the offense improves...and I am sure it will, and the opponent is playing from behind, better for the defense.  I am expecting good things for this team.  Staying healthy will determine how far this teams goes this year.

(Also should add..better play calls on 1st down. )

If Tiger Woods in a red shirt and black pants is the highest and JK Rowling as a single mother living in a broom cupboard is the lowest I'm at about a David Arquette Eight Legged Freaks world premiere level.

I am more at the Tiger Woods and brown pants level. :poo:

I'm pretty confident.  While we had a good record last year, I don't think we looked anywhere near that good.  I never felt confident we would win until the final buzzer.  But I put a lot of that on health and coaching.

So, you never really know if you are going to be healthy or not in any given year, so that is an unpredictable variable.  With that said, Our receiving corps should be healthier.  Funchess's shoulder should be healed (which was far worse than most realize from what I hear), so I expect to see more of what we did just after KB was traded and before he injured his shoulder.  Byrd should be healthy again, and while Samuel won't be healthy for spring workouts, all signs point to him being ready by TC or at least by early season.

And despite many people fearing Ryan Kalil will just get hurt again, I really don't think that is any more possible than anybody else.  Based on reports (end even his own words), the injury last year was a direct result of him not being able to train properly and get his body ready to start the year due to his rehab from offseason shoulder surgery...this year he will have a full offseason to get himself ready.  And then you have Cam, who will also have a full offseason to prepare, and should come into the season at 100% health.

The Norv effect is a much bigger deal than some think.  He knows how to take advantage of the skill set of the player we have, which was not the case last year.  I believe CMC is going to have a breakout year (as a complete back, not just receiver).  He'll design plays that open up the field rather than clog the middle like happened in the past.  And in addition to a legit downfield threat in Smith, chain mover in Wright, and better overall health of the receiving corps, I expect another playmaker brought in at WR that will be a contributor.

Defensively, we should tone down on the blitzing, which will help our secondary immensely.  As a whole, I think the defense will be solid, and good enough to win a SB if the offense gels like I expect it to.

So yes, I am confident.  I truly feel we have the talent and coaching in place to compete for a Super Bowl.  Will we get there or win it?  Who knows, but I believe we are one of a handful of teams capable of it..

In 2015 we had such good success on 1st and 2nd down, our 3rd downs conversions were bottom of the league. Our Offense also led the league in 80+ yard TD drives.

Man, if Norv can get us back to that. We gon be good. I tell ya what.

My confidence is pretty low not because of the team on paper but because it seems that every other year the Panthers are terrible.

There's that fear of the past creeping into this again. Pretend you have a pen. A really nice one, but not with your name on it. Now hold it out at shoulder level. Now let it go. Now tell me. Doesn't that feel better.

I can honestly say I am not worried about that curse. I defiantly see us having a winning record this year. Too much talent, with some very quality depth.

    Dang, I love these glasses.

I’m optimistic because I like most of the players we are bringing in for visits. I am also glad Hurney did what Gettleman did last year before the draft. We have positions we can improve but we’ve got players at every spot. We don’t have ridiculous holes. We have the flexibility to go multiple directions. We won’t be rock solid at every position but no team ever is. I like that we are really looking at offense and on defense we appear to be concerned with CB/S and not DL where I think we are strong. I’d like to see where Hall is and I’m hoping that looking at guys like Chad Thomas is about needing future depth when Peppers is gone and Addison is long in the tooth. If you think about it we are virtually getting 11 new players on top of last year’s team in Hall, Elder, Samuel and 8 draft picks. If Moton does what I think he can do at guard we’ve got a chance to do better than last year even year be damned.

I'll be honest. I am excited over what Hall, and even Obada, can bring. Man, if we can get some rotational play from these 2, it could mean a lot. Especially towards the end of the year. Keeping that D-line fresh is going to be important.

And yeah. To heck with that every other year shmitt. We gon be good, I tell ya what.

We are truly going to be Air Coryell, the NBA of the NFL, winning games 70-69 because WE HAVE NO fuging SECONDARY

Yeah, I can't believe we won 11 games last year. What with us having no Secondary. C'mon man. At least try to keep in within the realm of reality. Throwing hyperbole around, does not make your point any more valid.

IMO, there is no reason not to think we can be more than capable at DB. We may not have any stars per se. But the whole, can defiantly be better than its parts.

I truly believe too many folks are forgetting that Rivera is a really good Defensive Coach.

We still have Cam, right?

We will at least be a wild card.

This sounds like you have your confidence on a leash. Take that leash off, and let it run. It is amazing how beautiful confidence can be when you let it run free. Confidence is not meant to be reined in. It is meant to soar. Go ahead, let that confidence soar.

But yeah. Not only do we have Cam. But we have a fully healthy Cam. It has been a while since we could say that at the beginning of the year.

i'm still bullish about this coming season. going forward beyond that....i'm kind of in wait and see. lots of changes coming round the bend. could be good, could be the browns.

Dayum, that's harsh. And truly very depressing. Screw it, I ain't going there. As long as we have Cam, we have a shot.

I mean dang man, you started out so well. Sounding very confident. Then it all went South. Maybe not in a landslide sort of way. But more of a slow descent into the abyss. The Browns????

The Browns? Bant. Can you even do that. I mean, what is the protocol for that?
