Not good. We better load up the secondary.

Need a better defensive scheme. Brees can counter pressure or lack of pressure. Coverage is ideal but you have to be able to call the defense to counter what Brees does effectively. We have guys that can cover their receivers without much issue, however they have to be put in a position to succeed.

When a team as WR needy as the Bears fails to match your offer you know you’re overpaying. But I don’t blame the Saints for trying to maximize Brees’ final years. I just wish we’d try to maximize Cam’s prime years.

You don't think Torrey Smith and Wright are maximizing cam's prime years??

Me neither

I actually liked the deal for Smith. My primary issue is in years past. We consistently put Cam our there behind some of the worst OTs the NFL has ever seen in an offense designed to push the ball down the field leading to him taking unholy beatings. Not to mention while also relying on him to carry our running game more often than not. Gettleman attempted to put weapons around Cam but he just didn’t choose wisely. We drafted nothing but tweeners at WR and we drafted them high. He focused on guys who fit his image of a WR not guys who actually WERE WRs.

pressure from the middle is the best way to counter Brees or any pocket QB. If Poe can live up to the billing, that helped. And if we can get some press corners to throw off the timing of routes.

Yes, Panthers need way more pressure but, it gets to the point where you are gonna face a dominant O-line and/or an elite qb that can get the ball out quick.(Exhibit A: Brady vs Sacksonville)

I suggest strengthening the secondary with early CB and S picks. It also works out that this year's draft happens to have a strong CB class and top heavy S class. Strike now!

They already handed out big deals to Robinson and Gabriel. $5 million isn't an investment you worry about overpaying on.
