And that needs to change.. As the rest of the division has figured out .. Getting a young safety can help your defense..

Von Bell help the saints Neal is helping the Falcons. .

Bell and Neal actually aren’t really all that great for those defenses. Neal hasn’t lived up to top 15 pick expectations and Bell really hasn’t been good either. Both defenses have other great young pieces but those two safeties were not a great example.

- Makes sense. Rivera prety much said as much during his Combine presser.

- Very interesting that Kirk is our #1 WR

If all 3 are on the board when we pick and no other huge fallers like a Derwin James, etc. are there I guarantee you it’s Ridley.

Your opinion.. I've seen both make great strides and have effect on the back end of both of those defenses..  While we play and hope are ARP backend survives till the end of the season...

You right Thomas we don't need these young legs and power on the back end of our defense.. These dudes aren't making no plays. Lol

Yeah let's stick we these old dudes who always seem like a step slow and day late on plays...

We have NEVER drafted a S in the first unless you count TD. We've only drafted a S in the second 3 times in our entire history as a team. So yeah I don't expect it to change now.

Eh, not quite. Rashard Anderson was drafted in 2000. They tried him at Safety and Corner, did not impress. Got busted for drugs and never played again.

About CAP--and many of you know that I have been saying CAP will get his shot (5.3 yards per carry vs. Stewart's 3.4)--

Why would you have a back who has really not had much of an opportunity of his caliber and not give him the opportunity to be the backup RB?

When we talk  draft, we say, "And take a developmental player in the sixth round...." or something similar.  And when one develops in the shadows, you want to draft someone to take his shot away.  CAP knows what is on the line--he will be ready.

A lot of people don’t actually realize now you need good safety play to get to the big game. Look at the top teams defensively, they all have a really good secondary.

A lot of this doesn’t surprise me at all. My biggest concern with Bradberry coming out was he could be a little soft. Last season he was soft and lackadaisical at times. I can understand Worley giving up plays, but we just can’t have them both giving up big plays, which is something our secondary was prone to do a lot of.

I wouldn't take Kirk over Ridley but I do really like his game. He's good size for somebody who can absolutely fly like that and he effectively ran a pretty diverse route tree that you don't see with a lot of burners like DJ Moore.

I think that has zero or very little to do with the situation...

He was drafted as a CB. Tried and actually played are different. He didn't become a starting safety.

If memory serves, when they announced him from the podium it was "linebacker Thomas Davis".

He got switched to safety  later out of necessity. Based on that, I would agree that you can't count him.
