Something becoming common knowledge does not necessarily equate to that knowledge being intentionally shared.

I don’t ever remember you piping up and telling us that we were drafting Shaq or Butler.

As for last year Jeremy had the majority of this board convinced Caff was not the first choice at 8. The few of us who know a thing or two knew Caff was always going to be the pick at 8.

These threads are always the best. Separates the people who actually know things from the people who live on this site with zero communication to the outside world.

I haven’t had any inside connections in about a decade nor have I ever claimed such. If you don’t recall a ton of talk about Butler, Shaq, and CMC to the Panthers then I don’t know what to tell you. There was all kinds of chatter about all three. In terms of first choice, unless you’re drafting very, very high in the draft your first choice is unlikely to be available. I’m sure CMC wouldn’t have been our pick had we been drafting #1 overall.

By understanding English.

You literally said “Something becoming common knowledge does not necessarily equate to that knowledge being intentionally shared.”

Couple that with your previous statement.

“Everyone and their brother was "aware of what's going on" leading up to the last few drafts. The Shaq, Butler, and CMC picks were all widely speculated. Maybe we need to tighten things up in house.”

Add on the crux statement.

“I think it's a pretty safe assumption that Voth nor any of the other media types are included on the details of future plans for the roster. “

You clearly are implying you know more than people inside the building.

FreeFua and I don’t agree on hardly anything, but in this context. He is correct.

If a TE in this draft is the BPA on our draft board at #24 then I hope we trade down. Maybe some team wants to jump up to take a Rudolph or Jackson at QB.

Considering that, in my opinion, there are no TEs with a first round grade--and I question round 2--we need to drop back.

About the QB point--we almost need a new thread for this,  but there are (in my opinion) four "elite" QB prospects and 2 solid QB prospects (Jackson, and Rudolph).  I am guessing all go in the first round once the trading starts.

Cleveland 1, 4: No doubt the grab one of the top 4 QBs.  Darnold is my guess

Giants: 2:  With Eli at 38,  Gettlemen will not pass up the second overall pick in the draft for a hog mollie.  Allen is my guess.

Jets 3:  They did not trade with the Colts for RB.  They will take a QB--Rosen is my guess.

Cleveland 4:  How much do they want Barkley? If you consider the fact that Keenum is probably not the solution in Denver at QB,  The Browns will be offered a fairly nice package for a team like Buffalo to move up.  Problem?  Is Mayfield worth it?  Some compare him to Tribuski--so yeah?  I predict that Buffalo packages picks 12 and 22 to move up to #4.  Cleveland should take it.

Denver 5: If Denver wants Mayfield, they should offer their first rounder in 2019 and their second rounder in 2018 to move up.  Cleveland still gets Barklay and they don't really need more draft picks in 2018.  Let's say either way, Mayfield is gone and either Buffalo or Denver needs a QB.  If we want a trade, we should hope that Buffalo moves up and grabs a QB because if they do not, they have 2 picks before us. Either way, the Bills will be fighting to move up as long as a top 4 qb is on the table.

After that,  Jackson is probably the next QB to go.  Miami at 11 or Arizona at 15 could bite--and of course, Buffalo if they do not trade up from 12.  I see one of these 3 teams taking the bait and grabbing Jackson--my guess is Arizona (they cannot feel good about Bradford and Glennon).  Still, it is possible that middle of the first is too rich for Rudolph or Jackson.

After Pick #24, there are  teams that need a qb--we know Miami and Arizona may need one.  But teams like the Chargers, Patriots, Jags, and Steelers could fall in love with a QB and decide to move up for Rudolph or Jackson. I could see New England moving up with us, but if Buffalo is still without a QB, we are probably going to chat.   I think New England would like Rudolph after a year or two under Brady, so I am predicting that we move back to 31 in a deal with New England, getting their third rounder.

You literally just walked yourself through why you’re incorrect and it still didn’t occur to you.

Read through it again and see if you can understand it.

It isn’t about who knows what, it’s about whether or not that knowledge was intentionally shared.
