understand aging players trying to hang on and skirting the rules to try to do it.

If you watch the video he says it’s something he’s taken for nearly a decade: an estrogen blocker.

Said this is the first time that has ever tested positive.

Starting to think gettleman was right on Davis and Olson as they are breaking down and not as good as they were...the game takes a toll

he may not last in any games too long anyway with the new head first rule

now we are left with Shaq who is the biggest and underachiever on the team...and he has his own issues off the field to deal with

What off field issues?

Was it a newly banned substance? If not then I find it very difficult to believe that he'd been using it for nearly a decade and not been getting popped.

Estrogen blockers and diuretics are very commonly used to mask steroids in drug tests. That's the primary reason organizations ban those substances.

I still dont want a LB or DT in the first round. Stop with all that nonsense.

We have no need for a 1st round LB. Shaq was drafted to take TD's place.

IF we take a LB, it'll be because we're concerned about Luke's long-term health. Kind of like when Luke was taken. We were worried about Beason and it was for good reason in hindsight.

Positive test or not, It is no doubt that he will not come back the same as his skills were already diminishing. When he does come back after 4 games, despite this suspension, he should still be applauded and praised for what he has done for this franchise along with Kalil, Peppers and Olsen.

I just want a LB/DT in the first to watch the meltdown here. My monies on a QB though.

Personally I’m convinced gettleman was gotten rid of because of JR’s drama. Like him or not it rings pretty true gettleman stood up for a few players that JR wanted gone for social/racial issues.

TD’s contract had nothing to do with it.

TD's extension wasn't even at all lucrative. You could say maybe Olsen's was, but it would still be a stretch considering that when healthy he's one of the best TE's in football.

I think DG and JR were butting heads since the Norman fiasco. When you add in the fact that they both have massive egos, and other factors like you mentioned, it's no surprise at all that things finally deteriorated to the point of no return.

I just hope we can get a quality owner in here.

We don't know what he tested for and with all the things that are added into supplements, it's very possible to test positive for a banned substance. Hell, you can fail a drug test for eating too many poppy seed bagels before a test. It's not likely, but it can happen.

The NFL provides a list of supplements that are tested and approved by a 3rd party laboratory to be free of banned substances. If a player takes anything that's not on that list, then that's on them. The player is responsible for what he puts into his body and the NFL is very clear on this.
