We know the Panthers are interested. We need a true deep threat in this offense with Norv Turner coming in. Expect another year of slow developing deep routes. Luckily a situation which Chark excels. True deep speed that shows up on tape.

With a dominant performance at the senior bowl at the game and in practices even with mediocre quarterback play

Sooo Chark couldn't get off presses in college but you miraculously think he's going to do it in the pros.

Chark shooting up some teams draft boards is just like players like Perriman and Dorsett going in the first round. And crazy enough they both dealt with mediocre qb play and produced at a more steady rate. I would hate to be the gm to take him in the first two rounds and leave better pure wr talent on the board

Nobody on the current roster inspires confidence in that role. Torrey Smith is old and has not been productive in years. Even with his 40 time, Samuel has never shown the ability to consistently get behind the offense and track the ball over his shoulder. Funchess ... don't even make me laugh.  Byrd isn't that fast on the field, has almost no production in his career at any level, and can't stay healthy.

I don't expect Moore or Ridley to be available. Let us go with the receiver with the highest ceiling in this draft. One with a dominant performance at the senior bowl at the game and in practices even with mediocre quarterback play.

Sure, let's jump all over fifth round talent in the first. May we should try to trade into the top 10 for him just to ensure we get laughs from all 31 other teams.

I like Chark, real upside for sure.  But not in the first, probably not in the second.  I do think Chark is a second round prospect, but it's more likely that we address other needs.  Now, if Chark falls to the third round, it would be a great pickup for us and create some real competition between Chark, Byrd and Samuel . . . which is a good thing.

It's no secret that Chark is my favorite WR this class.  However I know he's a huge risk in the first. He's only had one year of production and he body catches.

However I think he's worth the risk. He's gotten better every year at LSU, worked his way up the depth chart, and just has that it factor. I truly do believe he can become a special WR in the nfl. I thought this before the combine, hell I thought he was gonna run a 4.5 at the combine and I still wanted him.

There is no "point" to this forum......  Did it really take you more than 13000 posts to realize this?

The purpose of the forum is to discuss football

He posted his opinion

I posted mine

He said that that our opinions don't matter and the panthers are gonna do what they're gonna do (which we already know)

Lately it seems that football discussions are secondary to personal attacks, complaints, victimization claims and pissing contests. It has been years since this forum actually discussed football strategy, real Xs and Os, and scheme instead of what passes for discussion these days.

Yep.  And too many of the quality posters have left, leaving so many newer ones that seem to enjoy bickering and tend to view everything in a negative slant.  Heck, even some quality posters in the past that are still around get drawn into the drama.  The only thing that makes it worthwhile is the occasional nugget of information that we didn't know before.  Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of places to go that are this active with Panther talk.
