I still say he was just confused. When the hell have we been able to beat the punt to the returner this year? Our punt coverage is horrible and i think in his mind he honestly didn't know that he didn't have the ball. The hit itself was viscous...obviously 15 yard penalty...but i do not believe he should've been ejected for the hit.

However if he got into a fight with tampa bay players afterwards than he should be. He was in the wrong and he just should've walked away and took a knee til the opposing player was okay. He needs to go the locker room after the game and apologize for sure.

I do not think launching yourself should be a fineable offense though. This is football. Your body is your weapon and as long as you lead with your shoulder and not to the head as he did it should be a legit hit.

Wesley was ejected for the punch he threw not the hit.

The hit was cheap, but didn't warrant the ejection. He threw a punch in the skirmish and that got him kicked.

Except in this instance, it wasn't helmet to helmet. It was a cheap shot where he launched himself into a defenseless receiver. But he was ejected for thowing a punch after the play. I heard the ref say it clearly. Ray Lewis got penalised for launching himself into a defenseless receiver last week but wasn't thrown out for it.

agree. another half a second and the ball would've been in smith's hands, and the hit would have been absolutely beautiful, probably would've caused a turnover. unfortunate timing on dante's part... i think he was trying to make a big play and just miscalculated. he gambled, lost, and paid for it.

It was a stupid play, Wesley shouldn't have done it, but everything will be alright. Move on.
