Coach Cowher says......

Recommended Posts

This I can agree with... Pardon me being particular when I get tired of seeing people like Koolkatluke say Jake is the reason we are 2-3 when there are so many other factors involved..

he has 11 sacks and just like Cutler, who has 7 INTs and 10 sacks where as people like Peyton and co have 2 or 3 sacks... There is a correlation between the two (I realize Jake is fairly immobile, but that's not the entire story).. I just think a fair assessment is in order instead of hearing things like "Pep has been invisible all season long" when we all know that's not the case... (just another example)

I def want to see a new coach brought in as I'm tired of seeing the same team over the last several years, even in regards to them playing down to competition.. It's the little things that are starting to get to me, not just the big things.. I'd love a new QB as well. Perhaps Jake bounces back, but as a fan I have no control of that.. However, I do expect people to be reasonable at the same time. I don't think that's too much to ask. Esp when someone says they rather have Romo then Delhomme... The same poo would be happening, just different names... I mean, wtf are we really talking about here.. :)

From what I have seen, Jake's int's have come when he was not under that much pressure. That was certainly the case against Tampa.

We threw more because we were behind in those games. Do you really think we should have been running the ball when we were behind Philly by 2 or 3 td's?

No, that is a myth. We got behind b/c of Panther playcalling and leaving the run. We got behind in Philly b/c Jake was throwing the ball when we should have been running. They RBs ran good in that game....but despite the run working they opted to go to the air.

Granted I voice my opinion on Jake heavily....but he is not the main reason. IMO, from AZ to Dallas was some of the worst coaching I have seen. Fox/Davidson have actually recieved little of the blame they deserve. There is changing Fox....he is the HC and flawed.....therefore if Fox is gonna put his QB in bad scenarios I will gladly take a less overall talented QB who is more mobile and has the potential to simply take some negative yards instead of turning it over so much....which is why I support the change to Moore.

The next time I see Otah or Kalil throw the ball two feet over the receiver's head, I'll make sure to note it.

I'd like to see you do anything well other than wet your pants if you see a couple of 300 pound defensive linemen charging at you with a full head of steam...

lol

It amazes me how well you type with one hand whilst the other is giving Jake a reach around.

Give me a break, he's a quarterback in the NFL, it is EXPECTED to have big guys coming at you after every snap. If he can't handle that pressure and simultaneously thread the needle, then he isn't NFL caliber anymore, no matter what excuses you can come up with.

This is just another reason I dont want him. He would be just as bad or worse then Fox with a one dimensional Offensive attack. Hell the Steelers have done better without him if you ask me.

Exactly. Folks forget it took the chin 14 years to win the Super Bowl with the Steelers. There were quite a few terrible years sprinkled in there as well.

He had back to back winning seasons, matter of fact he had a stretch of 5 years of back to back winning seasons and then a 3 year span of winning seasons. Just say you don't like him instead of using the 14 year BS.

I like him, and the 14 years to win a Super bowl actually happened.
