help me find it in the rule book.. I'm interested to have this confirmed..

and even so, I think he was trying to time it right more than just interfering with the PR... With that said, the hit would be legit and just got the timing wrong.. the question is, where was the fair catch shown? a little half-assed arm in the air isn't legit either, technically.

and his shoulder went into the guys chest, not his head, as I've seen referenced somewhere..

dude, quit talking poo and back your claims up with something solid. so far you're coming up way short on all accounts.

Defenseless Player Protection -

"game officials will give special attention in administering this rule to protecting those players who are in virtually defenseless postures (e.g., a player in the act of or just after throwing a pass, a receiver catching or attempting to catch a pass, a runner already in the grasp of a tackler, a kickoff or punt returner attempting to field a kick in the air, or a player on the ground at the end of a play). All players in virtually defenseless postures are protected by the same prohibitions against use of the helmet and facemask that are described in the roughing-the-passer rules (see Article 11, subsection 3 below of this Rule 12, Section 2)"

He received a personal foul for:

Rule 10, Section 1, Article 4, Penalty B:

Article 4 During any kick (except one which fails to cross the scrimmage line), if

any receiver could reach the kick in flight, no player of the kickers shall interfere with

either:

(a) the receiver;

(B) the ball; or

© the receiver’s path to the ball.

Penalty (a): For fair catch interference following a signal: Loss of 15 yards from

the spot of the foul. Fair catch also awarded irrespective of a catch. See Article

5-Note, and Article 6. (Personal Foul.)

Penalty (B): For interference with the opportunity to make a catch (no prior signal

made): Loss of 15 yards from the spot of the foul and offended team is entitled

to put the ball in play by a snap from scrimmage. See 4-3-11-g. (Personal foul

if there is contact.)

This comes from the 2006 rule book...let me know if you can find a full copy of anything more recent online.

Not it's not hard. You just have to know the rules.

Rule 10, Section 1, Article 1) specifically provide that a member of the kicking team is prohibited from interfering with a receiver attempting to catch an airborne kick.

Good job... I ran out of gold stars, but this will suffice.
