I have more nuggets that have not been release but this board will just be negative and say im full of it

you should consider signing up for all-pro and dropping your insider info there. it tends to be vetted more rationally without the reactionary braying of the D-tier posters that always ruin these threads

Yeah, I agree. Also, what's weird is I read an article how safety's just arent getting deals this off season. No calls are being made. When you talent like Reid and Vacarro sitting out there, you just wonder what's going on.

Maybe GM's don't believe a good safety is worth good money.

I have seen some conspiracy-ish theories but I somewhat attribute it to market factors. I suspect it might pick up after the draft and after training camps.

Snagging Reid would be great for us. fug the dumbasses who care about the kneeling thing. We need good secondary players.

Use logic here. Why in the world would a team give up on a top ten pick so quickly. If there is any shred of truth to this there has to be some HUGE red flags. Either his knees are really shot, or he really sucks. Its like me telling you, I'll sell you my new luxury automobile for pennies on the dollar. Don't be shocked if it breaks down on the drive home...

Whose logic? The truth is it was failed experiement, he doesnt fit what they do and they drafted and either get something early for him or let him cut him  next year and get nothing. same way he did with ealy sometimes people can kill a locker room and its easier to have them gone that keep getting mad you drafted them so high every time they disappoint you..... see   armanti edwards , evereete brown, vernon butler, brandon cooks and hes good, jimmy clausen

It amazes me that some of you wouldnt want him or a 3rd

a year removed from being a top pick and setting the combine 40 record

smdh yet again some of you are waiting fo that WR to be served on a golden platter like it happens often. Be agressive go after guys and some will stick. Its a lot better wasting time sitting back and waiting for weapons for cam to fall from the sky

go get him hurn

None of that stuff matters after draft day. What we do know is that he was a healthy inactive multiple times last year. The Bengals decided he simply couldn’t help them on game day. In the three games he play he caught zero passes. He carried the ball once and fumbled it. For those disappointed with Samuels’ rookie season,  Ross’ was MUCH worse and he was a top 10 pick. It was so bad that the Bengals have been talking about possibly moving him to CB.

I simply think we can get a better prospect in the 3rd round hence why there’s no way I’d trade a 3rd for Ross. The Bengals fell into the same trap all the mock drafters did. They fell in love with a one year college wonder who ran a really fast 40 time. He should’ve never been a top 10 pick.

Bengals miss used him all season, he fumbled during one of his first couple games and they benched him for pretty much the whole season. Said in another thread trading a 3rd for him would be a good trade for both sides, bengals are just doing dumb poo by trying to covert him to CB immediately after his rookie year and not letting him develop

makes sense, but I have done some research and ive found that Marvin Lewis is a stingy guy as far as playing rookies. Aparently he didnt play Dunlap or Atkins right away. and Ross apparently got a big head and wasnt into the playbook as much as he should have been. theres this one article that explained it pretty well but i cant seem to find it

im just intuitively hoping that what he needs is a period to rest his body (which he has had) and simply a fresh restart

the bengals were bad and had a bad OC that got fired and he had injuries to derail him

he reminds me a lot like samuel, just probably a little bit more cocky. and yes, worse knees. but the upside  is tremedous I feel and is worth a hurney 3rd.

im heavily considering Hurney's track record with picks outside of the 1st round.

this just feel like the Olsen trade to me, and he doesnt have to be nearly as good as olsen for a 3rd for ross to pay off

i say throw a 3rd at them.  and throw it hard

ESB or Anthony Miller in R3 > trading for John Ross, and I am a huge UW/Ross fan. With Samuel's rookie year, I don't want to speedy guys coming off of injuries.

ESB is a Martavis Bryant clone and Miller is a bit slower than Ross, but a good value.  Ross has had too many injuries, and doesn't bring a 'veteran presence' that is preferred over rookies....in this case, only 1 year apart in draft classes.

In fact, if we're trading a third round pick, then Martavis makes more sense.

He had shoulder surgery before draft, I don’t think he hid anything. He was a healthy scratch most of the season after some not so good results early on.

He definitely missed most of it, but he was healthy when the season started. Also, it was his shoulder that he missed most of the offseason for, not the knee which was his worry.

Yeah either way my whole point was that team's don't just give up on top 10 picks after 1 injury riddled season. That would be ridiculous. And if we could get him for a 3rd holy poo we'd need to jump on that. But that being the premise of this thread makes me think it's a load of bullshit. Not even sure they'd take a late 1st.
