the irony of this post considering the US military is voluntary as well

You’re probably too young to remember but we did have this thing called a draft...

Fair enough. But I wasn't speaking about any cheerleader in any sport. I was referring to the Panthers cheerleaders only. Was she a top cat? Because that was the point of this thread. Secondly, as you note your friend complained about conditions and that could be for several reasons including they suck. Still I bet that not everyone or even a majority feel that way. Different people have different expectations and ideas of what is fair and what she deserves. So is this relevant to the discussion or justification in general.

The article speaks on more than just the topcats, though. I’m referencing the entire shibang, as to me, the point encompasses more than the panthers and topcats but I’m not going to disclose if she’s a topcat or not.

I also know that not everyone feels the way my personal friends feel, but there are those that do and when this becomes bigger you’ll find out. Different people have different expectations and ideas of what is fair, but that could be argued for anything. Any atrocity in history could’ve used the same argument you are using. If individuals are coming up to you and telling you they are being treated unfairly or practices are being brought forth to your attention that are questionable, they shouldn’t be ignored or made light of.

Why are you so concerned,  when it is obvious that the young women who try out and make the squads are quite happy with their part time and temporary employment ?

It may come as a bit of a surprise for you, but some folks actually VOLUNTEER their time and talent for various causes because it looks good on resumes and they LIKE it.

The morality police are out in full force on this thread. Don't know which is worse, bible thumpers or left wing kook know it alls.  Both groups think they have the only opinion that matters.  If people are falling all over themselves to do a job as its advertised then why are the social justice busy bodies wasting their time trying to create something out of nothing?  Because their poo doesn't stink and they are superior to the rest of us knuckle draggers. At least thats what they think in their peace sized brains.

So now you are talking attrocities and acts of unfair or unethical practices as relevant to this discussion?  I am talking about a person who voluntarily accepts a dancing/entertainment position because she loves to dance and thinks that doing so in front of 10s of thousands of fans is a great gig. Maybe she is a model, hopes to be discovered , or just loves to be a cheerleader. These people try out and compete for the position, they aren't subjected to anything they don't want to be and can walk at any point. This isn't their.life or.livelihood. If they are subjected to unfair conditions they do it willingly thinking the good far outweighs the bad.

This is not exploitation or usuary. What are these unfair practices you suggest. Nothing in the OP post is unfair or unethical. What are you seeing I am not.

Each one of these NFL franchises is a multi billion dollar business.  They can easily afford to pay at least minimum wage and expenses for all their employees without missing a beat.  The difference to the bottom would be almost imperceptible.

Charge a couple of pennies more per hotdog and get 'er done!

* limiting who one socialize and dates

* no sweatpants in public

* in the panthers case, having to leave the stadium to change your clothes

There’s nothing about any of those things that are unethical or unfair? So, companies and jobs are able to control who you date and talk to now?

Companies and jobs are able to tell us what we are to wear off company property now? I know my company gives me a certain dress code when I’m aboard one of their aircraft, but they can’t tell me what to wear outside of that.

Are you serious? Unfair and unethical? Hardly. When you are a public figure and represent an organization there are always conduct clauses and dress codes especially when the reason you have the position is your dancing ability and your appearance. This is showbiz and entertainment. What you do off the field is just as important as what you do on the field. Do reporters follow you around and observe what you do in your off hours. Are you recognizable by random people who would see you walking down the street? Again apples and oranges here and not unethical.  After the two topcat cheerleaders became the laughing stock of the league you can bet some conduct clauses were introduced.

You thought you were going to get support from this chat forum. So many closet racist and so many womanizers here.  It's run jump and score for me here. Nothing deeper than that.

I didn't make this thread looking for support. I knew this would be the outcome. I agree that this forum is full of closet racists and womanizers. It's beyond sickening.
