i'm never going to give the broncos credit for winning that. i'm more likely going to give the saints credit for their *ring.

those refs wanted peyton and their favorite/home team to win and they managed to pull it off.

Going into the game without planning anything new was bad enough as it was. Doing it following the loss in Atlanta was inexcusable. Not adjusting in-game once we saw what was happening is even more inexcusable.

I get the "if it ain't broke don't fix it / what we were doing was working before" argument, but you have to have a backup plan just in case what you're doing suddenly stops working. It did, and we didn't.

Maybe if they had studied what happened in Atlanta as hard as Wade Phillips did, things would have been different.

At the end of the day, it was the worst possible matchup for us in the entire NFL.

I can agree with that, but Peyton was a shell of himself by that game.

Honestly, that may have helped them.  Kept it very conservative, no chance at turnovers, played against everything that our D was doing well.

But, to be more clear, I was referring to that defense.  They could defend the entire freaking field it seemed....and then the boys just started messing up.

Cotchery play changed the entire game. Tolberts lost fumble didn’t help either. Shula got Buster Douglas’ed by Wade Phillips. That’s it.

Our defensive performance did not deserve to lose that game.

Besides that, it was such a weird and ugly game with so many strange events. I've also never liked Manning (either of them), so I was extra annoyed with everything.
