Anyone Here Play Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild?

I tried to get into this game and put like 20 hrs into it. But had to stop, because it began to feel like a grind.. its sad but almost every open world game I play I get what i call "open world fatigue" where I reach a point where I done so much wondering around i feel burned out.

This game has pretty much garnered nothing but 10/10s and I'm not seeing it . The world is beautifuly designed and the combat works quite well. But some things I think are missing, the story I encountered was underwhelming, the main villain has no personality and no reason to really care about beating them , the variety of enemies is very poor , there are too many shrines and many of them are too similar in design, and the weapon breaking system is annoying as anything Ive ever encountered in a game.  I only played 20 hrs and I felt massively overpowered once I started getting Ancient Arrows and I found the master sword.

I may try to pick it up again but, thus far Id give it 7/10 at the most. I think its possible I rate story/characters too high in video games, but after playing alot of RPGs and trying something like this leaves me really dissapointed.

You need to keep playing. It's supposed to be a grind, not a game you beat over a weekend to boost your ego. Open the entire map, solve all the shrines, get all the seeds, beat the 4 mid-bosses, get all the armor, build the village, play long enough for the silver enemies to show up and bother you, beat the minotaur characters and take their amazing weapons, download the extra missions and compete in the super difficult trial, complete all the side missons.

If you were to view your completion rate after just 20 hours, my guess is you'd be at 15%.

So you beat 40 shrines, found the master sword and beat all of the Ganons in 20 hours and you thought it was boring? Weird.

I hadn't played a Zelda game(or any video game in about 25 years) since the 8-bit original, and I LOVE this game. I was recovering from surgery and had a lot of sitting around for a couple of weeks and got hooked on this game. I'm rehabbed now and I still go back to it for an hour or so every couple of days, just to kill Lynels or work on getting 999 ancient arrows. The grind is the fun part for me. Figuring out the mechanics of the game and exploiting them in your favor is fun in my opinion. I love the fact that you have to consider every weapon strike, arrow shot and shield parry. I beat the game by accident wandering around the castle looking for the Hyrulian Shield. Ganon is underwhelming, but there's no boss fight that could live up to the build up you give yourself playing this game.

Hate to hear you don't enjoy it, but you're in the minority. I hear that game Dark Souls has been remastered for Switch, so if you haven't already beaten that, it might be worth a try.
