Just look at the evidence. It's clear as a bell. I dont claim it to be fact but a strong possibility based on what's plain to see.

What evidence? There's clear evidence that Gettleman was frustrated by the direction of the offense under Shula and he's plainly stated that he would never interfere with a head coach in assembling his staff.

I don't think that was the case at all. Gettleman showed clear frustrations with Shula and the offensive development last offseason after drafting McCaffrey. I distinctly remember him in a presser downplaying the term "evolution" in terms of what to expect out of our offense and it was pretty obvious that he wanted bigger changes than what was coming.

Funny that he hired him as his OC then. I don't think I would have hired him even if the giants offered me a billion dollars.

Shula tenure was the Gettleman area. Then he follows Gettleman

Shula was OC before Dave was hired. He was a RR favorite and picked over two more qualified OCs. So was CHUD who he picked over Hurneys suggestion Jay Gruden.

gettleman probably understands that shula is....well....ok as long as he isn't running the offense. that's not going to be happening in NY. that's going to be shurmur's gig. shula's role is going to be nearly the same as mike mccoy's job when he was mcdaniel in denver. help get the offense ready for what the offensive mastermind wants to do during games.

probably the best thing that could happen for shula's career. shula's going to ride on shurmur's coattails and some team that is having trouble finding a head coach is going to overblow the level of control shula has over that offense and, in shula's case, fall in love with the name and offer him a HC job.

of course then the reaction from some of shula's defenders in here are going to be predictable and defiant talking about how shula couldn't have been that bad because he's got a headcoaching job and we all know that coaches who suck are never given HC jobs :Eyes_Emoji_42x42: and it's proof that shula was just a scapegoat only to watch him get fired again after a season or two of doing nothing but earning his team a couple top 5 picks.

and yes....i do know the winning powerball numbers for tomorrow night.  4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42

you're welcome.

It's not. We've got one or two idiots on here spouting that theory just to be assholes.

Voth reported that Gettleman tried to get Rivera to fire both Shula and Dorsey but wouldn't force him. Rivera stuck his neck out to keep them both. Same thing happened with Richard Rodgers but Rivera reassigned him rather than fire him.

It was also confirmed by Gettleman himself that he wanted Shurmur as OC but Rivera chose Shula and Gettleman refused to interfere in Ron's hires. He refuses to interfere in Shurmur's hires either, but since Shurmur will be doing the play calling, Shula's basically back to being a QB coach.

All of that has been reported by people with actual inside sources as opposed to guys just being dumbasses on a message board.

It was Gettleman who was making it difficult to move  on from Shula. It's why Gettleman was let go and  Shula was let go as soon as possible after Gettleman. Look where Shula landed.

Of course Rivera fired Shula.

Lol. So ignore all the facts and things that were reported. Got it
