I have always been baffled as to why the team, irrespective of GM or coaching staff, doesn’t invest in the S position more in the impact rounds of the draft.  The one S they drafted high they converted to LB- Thomas Davis.

It's probably primarily due to scheme. We've consistently had coaches who devalue the safety positions. It's ironic because John Fox was a safety himself. Maybe he figured that if he could do it anyone could do it.

Hurst in the 1st? Please no. He'll be 25 before he ever plays a down of NFL football. That puts him at 30 after his rookie contract if he's on a 5 year 1st round contract. You'd basically be drafting a guy who would be on the tail end of his prime by the time his rookie contract is up. Hurst would look really good to me in the 3rd but I don't want him in the 1st or 2nd.

I am not saying he should, but I expect him to go a lot higher than a lot of people around here think.  I would say in that 25-35 range.  Could be important for us because TE2 and safety seem to be two of the positions we really haven't addressed yet.  Almost like we expect to use an early pick on both.

Closer to the draft I’ll look a little bit more into Reid, thought he was a 2nd rounder. But I’m all for it, the de-valuation of secondary players in today’s passing leauge is a big reason we can’t put together two winning seasons in a row, that and wr evaluation
