Panthers Mock w/Trades Scenario

We aren't drafting a corner in Rd1, Bradberry is viewed as the starter, Cockrell is penciled in at #2 on a two year deal, and Munnerlyn is the nickel already. I could see a day three selection, but IMO -- S /HB / WR / TE / ER, are higher on the priority list, even OL depth.

If Josh Jackson drops to me at 24, I'm definitely grabbing him.  Talent like this on a 5 year rookie deal is too good to pass up.  I realize we have corners that could probably do the job, but exceptional ones are just too valuable and expensive.

If not, I might try to trade back a few spots, pick up an extra 3rd or 4th, and go with Reid at Safety.

You us trading up to take a safety ahead of the bucs, who you say are more safety needy then us, but if if that were true, I'm sure they'd be the ones trading up. Also doubtful we take a corner in the first, or a RB in he 3rd. Looks like a Walter football mock

With the signings of Cockrell & Gunter, and with the current corners already on the roster (Bradberry, Cole, Corn, Munneryln and Seymour) I just don't see us using our first pick on a CB.  IMO, it will be either a TE, DE or S.  BPA out of the three.

LB is a position we need to look at as well. Davis retiring after this season and no real depth outside out the starting three with the exception of Mayo.

If we waste a first round pick on a TE in this class I’ll storm the stadium...

Just because you don't like what this TE class has to offer doesn't mean our GM feels the same way.  Every year we think we have a good idea how this draft will play out and every year we're wrong.  Top players fall, unknown players get taken WAY earlier than expected.  Sometimes coaches don't want to risk waiting until their next pick to pull the trigger a player they're high on.  Hell, look at Bradberry.  He was projected to be a 4th round pick, but we took him in the 2nd.
