Panthers Bring Back LaDarius Gunter On One Year Deal

I am going out on a limb here and could be fed some crow if wrong, but we have never prioritized CB.  I am guessing that we are done at CB--re-signed Gunter (Great move--he is still young and he is big and he tackles), signed Cockrell, and we get Corn off the IR.  Throw in Bradberry, Munnerlyn, and Seymour, i have to think we are done folks.

We need a strong pass rush from the front 4, which is why I am guessing we take Landry (DE, Boston Coll) if he is there at 24.  I think we grab a G/C next, and I think we grab a S if Landry is gone.  RB and TE too.  Go home.

To make it easy on you guys when we draft a CB at 24, here is your pic to use against me:

Panthers general manager Marty Hurney told the Observer he believes the 6-2, 201-pound Gunter also could line up at safety.

“LaDarius was a good addition for us last season,” Hurney said in a text message. “And although he did not get many opportunities on the field, defensively he showed the ability to play both corner and safety for us.”

He played well when given a chance. If Corn can prove to be adequate in the nickel, then we might just have a decent unit at CB. Also, did we ever release Munnerlyn?

No.  Cap is still here.  Good depth signing.  He did well in limited action last year.  And can be a special teams gunner to replace Sheppard.
