Oh the hornets keep wanting a quick fix instead of building in the draft. Kemba will walk next summer for nothing and he's earned the right to leave.

You think He is gunna leave 60 million dollars on the table to have a chance at a ring?

Before anyone says it, yes, I am being cynical...We have made token efforts at filling the hole at LT and WR. We always seem to place question marks where exclamation points are needed. Yeah, the Panthers need to take English class... Oh, fug! Wait...!

"Lewis owns the English soccer team Tottenham Hotspur, whose new North London stadium was built with input from the NFL."

This off-season I might agree with you on WR, but there hasn't been a great LT out there and we had a lot of needs in the secondary.  If you believe that Funchess can be a legit #1 WR, then you shouldn't have an issue with Wright and Smith.  If you don't, I get it.

I would not be surprised at all if our first pick is a Tackle who can play on the left side, or an edge rusher.  We'll probably grab a decent RB and some secondary talent on day two.  Then it's all a crap shoot, but if that's how it all shakes out, then we're a backup TE away from being a complete team.  No one's trying to build a roster for 2019, or mailing in this year to maximize profit.  Just my two cents.

I'm not even entertaining this foolishness, you could maybe make this argument for Kemba but the Panthers are extremely competitive. They have been to the playoffs 4 out of the last 5 years. The problem is not the hornets and Panthers is our awful fans and media.

Cam and Luke have the talent to be more than just  "competitive." This duo, essentially franchise QBs (yes, Luke is like a QB on the other side of the ball), is the stuff that championships are built upon, provided they have the right talent around them.

Given we have had both Cam and Luke on the same roster for years....I would at least say this franchise has missed opportunities and should of done more.  I mean the win now window started a couple years ago.  And if you look at your team often whether it be the WR corp or DB group.  We haven't really been all in.

No poo. Luke has been to the playoffs in 4 of his 6 years and Cam in 4 of 7 and both have played in a Super Bowl. Am I wrong in thinking that’s not wasting anything and that’s a lot of opportunities to win something? Yes, we haven’t won a title but sometimes a dropped TD followed by a missed 25 yard FG is the difference. Look at the NCAA tourney. Loyola hit 3 game winning shots. Houston had Michigan beat save for a miracle 3 by a freshman. Did the Houston coach waste his kids opportunities? No, sometimes little things happen. If Brock Osweiler doesn’t lead a comeback against the Pats to get HFA or Brady converts on the two pointer we play the Pats in the Super Bowl and likely win.

It takes a lot of luck to win it all too, but 4 of 6 and 4 of 7 playoff appearances when the team was the team was 2-14 in 2010 sure doesn’t seem like wasting their careers. Heck if you say 2011/2012 were rookie/ young QB years then they are 4 of 5 in their prime. 2016 is the only season without a shot. I’d like to think we’ve got a good shot at the playoffs again. Here’s to hoping we have a good draft.

what does this even mean? bc we have weaknesses on the roster the team isn't trying to win? not every team is perfect. The FO is doing its best to win games lol

Basketball is my favorite sport by far but the NBA is fugged. Jordan was right, if you're not one of the 3-4 super teams, you don't stand a chance. The Hornets might as well be G-League team at this point. I almost wish Kemba would have been traded to the Cavs so he could have a chance to play on the national stage in games that matter.

At least the Panthers will be rid of their average-at-best owner soon.

NBA is by far the worst league for unique title winners going back to 1980.

MLB - 21

NFL - 17

NHL - 16

NBA - 11

Just ELEVEN different teams have won NBA titles in the past 38 years. That's pathetic. If I was an owner, that would seem problematic to me. (Well, unless I owned one of those eleven teams.) There's not a lot of hope to win a series if you don't have one of the best players in the league on your team.

Not exactly the the thesis here.

The point is that we could have, and probably should have done better. Not exactly sure why people can't see that, but sometimes people see what they want to see.

you don't use words like "wasted" if you're saying, "could have done better."  Every team/player/person could do better.  "Wasted" is used when you want to say that the organization is perennially bottom tier, eg Browns, or intentionally sabotaging.  This is typical Fowler hate.

Definitely, just like Steve Smith was.    Granted, Panthers aren't on Browns level, but with the talent we've had, we should have done more, and that is probably the issue here.    ZERO back to back winning seasons in franchise history.      I think a big issue is this city's acceptance of mediocrity.     You're talking about a football team that kept Fox around for a long time, then hired a coach slightly better but basically his twin in Ron Rivera.    Then you have Clifford, another "not bad, but mediocre" coach that keeps his job (to be fair, I don't know who is available that's better).     Look at how long Cho kept his gig as GM of the Hornets as well.

Yeh Cam will go down as the modern day Dan Marino,...

lots of records, changes the game, but will get knocked on every future conversation of “didn’t win a championship so he wasn’t the best”

take Dan Marino in his days and have put him on the Giants in the 80s with Lawrence Taylor and others, or had Jimmy Johnson made a move for him instead of drafting Troy, and now he’d be in the GOAT conversation.

would Brady have been just a career backup nobody or a Case Keenum at best without Belicheck?

get Cam a coach so we don’t have those conversations in the future,..
