Look, when you work for a company like anyone does you are on the clock even when you are not.

you represent the message and the image.

if I participated in a protest on my own time but became a spectacle and posted on Facebook, right or wrong I could be fired.

Now if I do that on company time— as Kap and Reid did— dressed for a football game on national tv,  it’s not your time it’s the company’s time—-

fired. I would be, any of us would be, and so were they. And you wouldn’t work for anyone.

thats not anyone else’s fault but yours.

so stand up— but be prepared to face the whirlwind Sheriff Brady,..

and if you are not, then be a good little employee and do your job.

You are right, they are football players. They don't get rights. The owners though, they can get involved politics. They get all of the rights.

Shutup @steven8989

Typical leftest response to attack a person with a different opinion.

Are you talking about like the 50's?   Because politics have been apart of sports since the 60's, at least.

You don't own athletes.    No one does.    This seems to be a really big problem with football, compared to baseball or basketball or something like that.    In those sports, they allow their athletes to have more of an identity.    I'm not sure if it's because of the viewer-base (make your own thoughts here) or what, but football fans act like the players should behave EXACTLY like they want, they should be HAPPY they get paid to "play a game", and they should not have any thoughts on ANYTHING.      Pick up ball, boy, and run.     We must have our gladiator sport EXACTLY like we want.

Football fans definitely try to police players' behavior more than the others but basketball fans have an entitled sense of loyalty for some reason. Like they'll burn jerseys and call dudes traitors for just signing with a new team, something I've never seen in football.

If Reid’s health is good and he wants to play, we’d be stupid not to go get him, especially when other teams might be trying to blackball him.

Can’t believe there’s not a GM/Owner combination out there that doesn’t see the major gain he’d be to a team: He’s talented and flexible in both positions— I doubt there is a team that can’t upgrade one of their two safety positions with him, he’s gonna come cheap, you’re gonna make other teams look silly, and if someone tries to get revenge on you for not following the blacklist they won’t come out looking better than you— you’ll win that fight in the public arena. Especially with Reid who already said he won’t do that protest this year and hasn’t tried to seek a larger spotlight from it.

Hard to say your team is about winning if you refuse to sign him and follow orders from others over adding an advantage to your team.

Well, it depends on the state and company conduct policy you signed, etc.

I wonder though how people would start feeling if companies started firing people that put up gun support memes and stuff on their facebook page.   If those people would be like "welp, company owns my time even off clock so this is fair".    Go to gun rally?   Fired.       I wonder.

True but it could be because the NFL has measures in place to pretty much lock players in with franchise tags and all that.    Basketball players have more freedom in that manner.
