There is no reason politics should be in football or any sport. They get paid to do a job and that is play sports not kneel and sit for something that is out of their control. This crap is getting old and the owners should have put a stop to it way before now.

You are right, they are football players. They don't get rights. The owners though, they can get involved politics. They get all of the rights.

Are you talking about like the 50's?   Because politics have been apart of sports since the 60's, at least.

You don't own athletes.    No one does.    This seems to be a really big problem with football, compared to baseball or basketball or something like that.    In those sports, they allow their athletes to have more of an identity.    I'm not sure if it's because of the viewer-base (make your own thoughts here) or what, but football fans act like the players should behave EXACTLY like they want, they should be HAPPY they get paid to "play a game", and they should not have any thoughts on ANYTHING.      Pick up ball, boy, and run.     We must have our gladiator sport EXACTLY like we want.

I completely agree with sports going to crap because of politics, but relegating someone to zero rights because of what they do for a living is the problem I have with your post. If you bring politics into a discussion you should express a supporting argument or fact as opposed to pushing someone down a totem poll based on their stereotype.
