Panthers And S Eric Reid Rumored To Be In Contact

And do we really know Kaep has been blackballed or is it just a convenient narrative of his supporters?  I mean, maybe teams have offered him standard backup QB money but he's holding out for starter money and refusing it so he can act like a victim and maybe sell some books to his fan club some day.  Who the fug knows.  Everyone ageed the guy was a douche and a moron until his stunt and now they want to pretend otherwise.

That plus the injuries gets a prove it type of deal.

I'm gonna give you the scoop don't tell the rest of the huddle the source is Sorensen you know you have to boost your articles hits lol.

If all of this is over the Sorensen piece, I can only find where Sorensen posted his opinion that we should go after Reid, nothing about us being in contact. It was also posted before the Searcy signing.

Did we just start this thread over a couple of random no name tweets that just got through reading the Sorensen piece?

Kaepernick destroyed his own career not blackballed. He himself made the choice to walk out on NFL and 49's on his own accord and nobody told him to do it so that alone sealed his fate of rejoining the NFL on any team so nobody was blackballed especially him. Reid is injury prone and why bring a player in that always gets bit by the injury bug and keep paying that player when he will be on bench all the time if he gets injured again.

He is definitely blackballed. The only reason he isn't signed is because of the negative press the team will get for signing him. Any GM would realize he is not worth the trouble because of the huge amount of hate he gets.

He should be signed but NFL is putting on a fake facade about being " a fake patriot"  meanwhile boosting the sales of the leading cause of death in America  (alcohol).

The 2 TEs threads are much better lol.

Ace > Huddlers

Profit = Patriotism. White profiting will always be synonymous with patriotism

Well if you let them define it , but not anymore.

Fake wanna be "patriots" are getting/gonna get called out for what they are.

I agree with you, but not sure I would call that blackballed.  NFL teams are a multi billion dollar organization that (even though fans don’t want to hear it) are owned to make money.  Bad publicity...fan backlash...duwbveatibgs...etc are extremely important.

People get fired from companies all the tine for less than Kaep did.

All of this is overblown by overjealous "primitive thinking segment of population" If NFL actually accepted Kap they would make more $$$$ with even larger fan base.

Black balling is when teams or the league collude to stop anyone from  hiring you. This Reid has done to himself. Teams aren't prohibited from hiring him, given his issues and injury history folks just don't want to take the chance. That is very different. Why bring on a guy who is polarizing if he isn't that great.

Colin Kaepernick had a job. He surrounded himself with people with agendas.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ray-lewis-ravens-refused-to-sign-colin-kaepernick-because-of-girlfriends-tweet/

Quote

Judy Battista: "I'm startled that he has not been signed. I've been told ever since I've started covering the NFL that talent wins out. We've seen teams take chances on a lot of unsavory characters. The fact that this is what has tipped over and they can't come to grips with signing a guy who has kneeled for the national anthem but you've signed guys that have enormous legal issues -- and they've been embraced by teams and they've been embraced by fans -- I find that curious."

Ray Lewis: "When me and Steve Bisciotti were talking, this is what we were talking about, Judy. We were talking about giving this kid an opportunity to get back in the National Football League. Look, this is what I wanted to share with people. I have been fighting for this kid behind the table like nobody has ... I've never been against Colin Kaepernick. But I am against the way he's done it.

"Then, his girl [Colin Kaepernick's girlfriend] goes out and put out this racist gesture and doesn't know we are in the back office about to try to get this guy signed. Steve Bisciotti has said it himself, 'How can you crucify Ray Lewis when Ray Lewis is the one calling for Colin Kaepernick?' ...

"When they (Ravens) called me, it was to say, 'Yes or no?' ... We were going to close the deal to sign him ... Steve Bisciotti said, 'I want to hear Colin Kaeperkick speak to let me know that he wants to play football.' ... And it never happens because that picture comes up the next day. "

Battista: "So, if not for that ... tweet, you think he would be a Baltimore Raven?"

Lewis: "Then he's flying him to Baltimore.  I am sitting with all three of them and we are all having a conversation about bringing Colin Kaepernick in."
