Reality is between health issues and age Richardson could live a lavish life from here on out and not spend more than a fraction of the money he'll receive after the sale of the franchise is completed.

Hopefully he donates a substantial portion of his estate to a worthy cause.

Glad to hear Goodnight got in the conversation.  Straight shooter, kind of gruff, but direct and empowers most of his staff to do their own thing and doesn't micromanage.  He knew my name after only a week of working there.  Never knew if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

For the record, the Charlotte Observer says that Rubin hasn't dropped out:

Bloomberg also reported Wednesday that the price tag of the franchise has reached $2.5 billion, prompting another prospective bidder, Philadelphia e-commerce innovator Michael Rubin, to drop out. But sources close to the process said Rubin has made a bid and is still interested in the team at the right price.

Observer report was updated at 10:39am. Rovell tweeted this just two hours ago.

So it sounds like he's still interested but basically out of the running.The "right price" is probably already gone.

Goodnight would be the best case scenario for the Panthers. He is innovative, forward thinking, employee focused and heavily involved in the community. Not to forget he is very successful.  A winner with a conscience.   How rare these days....
