I served in the USMC from 2003-2007 -- there is absolutely nothing wrong with him taking a knee. It's not a sign of disrespect, it's a gesture that would be respectful enough to garner attention.

We take a knee for injured players, and fallen brothers, and that is the PERFECT way to one, not only pay respects to the black people that LOST THEIR LIVES UNJUSTLY AT THE HANDS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, but to also generate the attention the matter itself needed.

If you can't support that, then you my friend I hope never have a cause that you'd be willing to sacrifice your lively-hood for and to also not be heard.

It is disrespect ...its saying my cause is more important ...its only important under that banner and ideal, not in spite of it.

I have and continue to support the cause, awareness, actions, and progress on this issue. Activists have their own strategies for bringing attention to their causes, I agree with some and others I don't. To me the flag has symbolic meaning that will always have my respect for all those that have fought, stood, kneeled, voted, spoken, marched, and protested for equality and freedoms of all, especially those suppressed and discriminated. A cloth item wrapped around a pole has no value to me, but our flag will always carry that symbolic meaning. For that I continue to stand for that symbolic hope and fight, and politely disagree with the strategic action of kneeling at this symbol that so many people, not just our military, sacrificed for a better future. This is the very representation that offers us the opportunity to have these discussions for progress. That's my opinion and you can disagree, that's ok.

The actual First Amendment.

Quote

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Doing nothing at S tells me one thing:  We have done nothing at S--which is why the first rounder is going to be a S.

Until it's not and we put it off.... again. I love CMC here, but we could've had Hooker or Lattimore last year and snagged Kamara in R2. It's not like last year's round 2 selection has helped remove it as a need. We loved Kamara last year leading up to the draft after his workouts.

Gotta hand it to the Saints......they had one of the greatest all around drafts that I can remember in recent history.

I would rather draft a safety in the first, Reid is not that good.

I guess some of you guys think that saying this will make it true.

Injury is a valid concern. The argument about him being "bad" and "not that good" simply doesn't hold water.
