Sorensen says we should sign Reid, and he's right.

You keep harping on salary when a bunch of guys have arguably been overpaid for their services. I mean, what would you say that his services are worth since you obviously don't like the 8 million per year figure?  I mean is he worth 7 mil a year? 6 mil? 5 mil? 4 mil? What's the magic number?

I mean, how is at least reaching out to him gonna hurt? I mean, he can't get injured by a phone call.  Is a one or two year deal going to cause us to slip into cap hell? What's the magic length?

Or is he simply and mysteriously untouchable because of injuries that other rostered players have had?

How do we know we haven't reached out to his agent already? I suspect we are doing due diligence on most of the remaining safeties.

No. I'm watching straight and clear with all four of them. Do your research!

didn't want to do this but......

Look, I played safety in middle school, my dad played safety in middle school, and when my grandfather played he was called a "safetyman." I am  obviously a lot more qualified to speak on the position than you. If my mom would have let me play tackle football then I would know even more, but she didn't want me getting hurt. (Love you mom.) So i spent many fall saturday mornings wearing flags around my waist doing research.

So when I say he is a bad safety, take that to the bank.

Not following your logic. Are you saying we should overpay him because other players have also been overpaid? Do those who have been overpaid have the same injury issues that he has? You know concussions is a hot NFL topic - why is it not safe to assume GMs don’t want to spend a ton of money on a guy who has had three of them? Seems like a reasonable fear to me.

How do we know the Panthers haven’t reached out?

You talk about Luke and TD...those guys were under contract when they were injured, not seeking new contracts. It’s not a fair comparison. I’m pretty sure Hurney was going to be the only GM to offer TD the money he did coming off that injury (and he was roasted for it).

The S market has just started moving. It’s not time to overreact to the situation. I mean, Bennett got a contract, Torrey Smith was traded for....guys are getting contracts that were involved in protesting so why assume that’s the only issue for Reid?

Luke has had multiple concussions and surgeries. Cam has had at least one concussion (and maybe more) and multiple surgeries. TD is the poster child for overcoming the ACL. And you're telling me that Reid isn't worth his weight in gold? Come on!

You see no difference between the players/scenarios? Oh, wait the only difference is kneeling. Got it.

I played defensive end and tailback, so...I guess you're right.

Don't state the facts in the situation... it makes his argument foolish.

I was specifically responding to people talking about his injuries. People that seem concerned with his injuries.

Nice try though.

That's all fine and good, and I get what you're saying, but I know damned well that some teams probably would have been running to sign Luke and Cam with decent contracts---if not but for a short(er) term---if they were free and in the same situation. Just saying. Injuries are a consideration for sure, but play kind of trumps that, at least for the short term.

THREE concussions, man. Most Panthers fans were telling Luke to hang it up after his second.

Yes, some were. But honestly there's no telling how many concussions many of these guys have had. That's the truth. I understand your point though.
