Is our secondary actually any worse?

Long story short we sucked last year and still suck now but it’s still early in free agency and the draft is still to come. We can only get better because it would be incredibly hard to be much worse.

Just giving my optimistic opinion.

There shouldn't be an argument about this--we're decidedly worse off than we were at the end of the season.  With that said, both Coleman's and Worley's positions needed upgrading this offseason in a big way.  For a brief while we thought CB was covered and now it's not.  FS should not be that hard to take care of, there's still a lot of talent out there.

Right now the best thing to do is just be patient.  Those holes will be filled, and after they are we can commence to bitching about them.

Secondary has been a weakness for a LONG time, nothing new but bringing in Eric Reid(doubtful unfortunately) or Boston back, taking a cb at 24, a safety in rd 2, while signing a cb like breaux so these guys aren’t thrown to the wolves will be a hell of a lot better than anything we’ve had collectively for a long time

Once again talking about something you have no idea about. Only condescending to those who clearly have no clue what they are talking about. You just happen to be one of the few on that list. You're really crushing it on the internet tough guy act. Good for you sweet heart.

Nah I got good idea you're a bitch.. And the fact you keep wanting to go thur this internet hissy fit  because a stranger on a football former calls you a prick is further proof..

And to be very clear we hardly if ever converse because you're dumb as fug and a fraud.. In reality I wasn't even talking to you when I called you a prick in this thread.. So all the I choose to be condescending to certain ppl punk poo.. Is really I'm a condescending fugwad to ppl who don't agree with my dumb ass opinion..

So once again you're a proven fraud and a prick and I don't need to be a internet "tough guy" to see or say that..

I think that our defensive passing scheme was bad last year and made the secondary look worse than it has looked in the past due to excessive blitzing which put Worley and Bradberry in single coverage. Too often the blitz didn't get there. If Washington just plays a less risky scheme we will already be better than we were last year no matter the personnel.

Only condescending to those who don't agree with you, you mean.  I think that list is a lot longer than you want to admit.

Again you have no idea about anything. I just am enjoying seeing how long I can drag this out and get a reaction out of you on something you claim to above and not care about. Funny to see how many times you can call someone a fraud and prick who is so irrelevant to you.

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
