Source: Panthers reached out to Allen Hurns and are interested.

Free agent Allen Hurns will visit the Jets on Wednesday.

Hurns was let go by Jacksonville on Tuesday following an underwhelming season that saw him miss six games due to a high-ankle sprain. The 26-year-old topped 1,000 yards during his breakout 2015 campaign and could probably benefit from a change of scenery following years of inconsistent quarterback play by Blake Bortles. The Jets also met with Terrelle Pryor on Tuesday, suggesting the team is serious about upgrading it's receiving corps.

And so this thread will end until Saca starts another one saying he heard Panthers where interested in someone else when it really isn't true.

...the Panthers interest in Hurns was stated by Hurns himself in a WFNZ radio interview this afternoon. Not sure why you are skeptical of its accuracy.

You do know that players throw out all these teams so it drives his price tag up. Common sense!!!

I sure hope not if he costs 8 million or more a season. We have bigger needs right now.

The point may be is that the draft may be better stocked and/or stocked with better quality at other positions of need than WR.

Free agency was really relatively thin quality wise this year, and prices have been inflated.

I don't think that we should just be signing glorified camp bodies because that's all that's left, we should be trying to sign quality guys, or at least more experienced guys with a strong body of work and/or younger guys who have some obvious upside.

In a radio interview with WFNZ Charlotte, free agent Allen Hurns said he's drawn interest from up to 10 teams.

Hurns said he's already been in touch with the Bears, Bills, Panthers Saints, Raiders, Texans and Jets, who he plans to visit on Wednesday. "Once we get the offers, we finalize things as far as the quarterback situation, the offense, things like that as far as the opportunities I'm going to have," said Hurns. "With certain teams, you might possibly take less to play with this quarterback or in this offense." The 26-year-old was cut by Jacksonville after losing his spot to Donte Moncrief.
