Panthers currently with $16.2M in cap space, per NFLPA. That's not a ton, but enough to fill some holes during (slower) second wave of free agency.

something has to be figured in, Torry Smith was only $5 million.  Carolina had $24 million.  Where the hell did the other ~$4 million go?

What about Peppers? It just makes sense at this point to spend a pick on Darby which would only cost us $1 million against the cap this year and then look at another safety for the 6-8 mil range and possibly a cheaper receiver. Point is something has to get done. To me the failed physical falls on Hurney.

I think the 24m was before Gano and Van Roten were added in.  This added about 4m.

Peppers and Poe are not included in their numbers.  It couldn't be clearer.

It's possibly a waiting game now, as Philly may cut Darby or Mills.

Ron Parker likely wants to return. Morgan Brunette is still out there.

Terelle Pryor and Mike Wallace could add some experience.
