Which retiring Panther had the most impressive career

peppers is a first ballot HOF and the best DE of his generation including tweener guys like ware.  probably the only bigger no-brainer among active players is brady.

ryan kalil over thomas davis in a squeaker basically just by virtue of him being healthier earlier in his career than TD was.  as a result he has more pro bowls and all pros.  davis was rounding into his 2012 and on form in 2009 but that's when the injuries happened and he essentially lost three years of playing at a pro bowl/all pro level.

It's not even close. Julius Peppers was superior to the other 2 in every way. Julius Peppers is a top 50-75 NFL player of all time. He is a first ballot hall of famer who should have a statue outside the stadium and number retired 7 seconds after he retires.

I know this isn't going to be a popular comment, but Thomas Davis is overrated by this fan base. What he did overcoming three knee surgeries was extremely impressive, but outside of 2 to maybe 3 years he's been an average to slightly above average linebacker. His play has taken a huge hit the past 2 years and especially last year. Ryan Kalil was a better player over his career than Thomas Davis. I do not think he should get a statue or retired number. Those honors should be left to true superstars like Julius Peppers, Steve Smith, Cam, and Luke.

also something that never gets mentioned, as tough as Thomas Davis is on the field (no one can question that), he is just as soft off the field. No one will ever confuse the Charlotte media as the inferno of sports media. This guy is incapable of taking any criticism. Charlotte couldn't be more soft on their players and he is out there blocking fans and media personalities. He blocked Darrin gantt, eveyone at WFNZ, and the WFNZ account. He is currently refusing to ever go on WFNZ again has his wife fight all his battles. Not to mention the tantrum he threw behind the scenes when Gettleman wouldn't extend him.

Davis deserves a statue over all those guys. Way more inspirational than all those guys. Pep half assed it and left, Smitty punched his teammates, Luke is a baller, Cam is star, but I think only TD deserves a statue

Gonna have to disagree with u. We should be representing our all time greats. Not the most inspirational. Peppers and Smith need to be the next 2 honored.

Pep is a 1st ballot HOF DE . . . easily.  The man deserves a statue at BoA for sure, especially by coming back here to finish his career . . . and not as a feel good story (though it was), but as a significant contributor on a good unit.

TD is a great story, no doubt.  He's even been a good player for us, but he's been helped immensely by playing the tail end of his career beside a guy who (if injuries / concussions don't kill him) will also likely be a HOF LB.  I'm not sure he's statue worthy.  Seems 50/50 for that to me.

Kalil (Ryan) has been all that you could hope for and more for a 2nd round pick.  A great Panther, team captain, anchor of the OL, Pro Bowler, All Pro.  I don't think his career has been HOF quality, but he's definitely been an above average player in the league for most of his career, and he played exclusively for the Panthers.  For those things, yes, I think Kalil gets a statue at BoA.

Thomas Davis and Ryan Kalil are retiring after this season, I’m assuming JP will do the same.

Out of the three, who do you guys think had the best career and what are the chances any of them get into the HOF

All 3 had a great career, but clearly Pepper is an all time great and a first ballot HOFer.  TD will be in the Panthers ring of honor, but doubtful for the HOF.  Kalil a really great player who largely goes unnoticed because of the position he plays.
