If you slowly replace parts of a boat, and then keep the old parts, and after a while you have replaced all parts of the boat, and then take the original parts of the boat, and build another boat, is the newly constructed boat a new boat or the old boat?

Had no idea his contract was so much, I'm sort of glad we get out of this one.  Would rather find a guy in the draft than lock up this average CB that apparently doesn't take care of his body when he is about to sign a huge contract.

WTF his contract was a good price? So go and fine all of our solutions for starters in the draft? Some of you are complete fuging idiots.

Well at least we have the cap space back.

I see a lot of folks saying " Oh okay, now we have the cap space to get Matthieu".

Some folks appear to have forgotten that Breeland's cap hit this year was only 3 million and some.

Uhh, just looking around, his pff grade was average.  http://walterfootball.com/freeagents2018CB.php has him ranked as the #24 free agent corner.

You have to wonder why he wasn't protecting his body before signing a huge contract.  I don't think it's too wise to be taking a vacation to the Dominican Republic and go golfing when you have millions on the line if something were to happen.

His contract was probably about what he's worth and I think it's too much to throw when there's other guys out there and we have draft picks to use.  Not sure why you think we are looking for all solutions in the draft.  I'd look to upgrade the secondary, OL, and WR.

It's not that difficult to get a low cap number in year 1 with signing bonuses. A 5 year/$60M contract with a $1M year 1 salary and a $15M signing bonus is only a $4M cap hit and that's around the number it would take to get him I think. That's not really the concern, but it does free up the cap in years 2 and 3 for Mathieu where Breeland had close to $10M cap hits.
