Would you guys take Trae Young if he is there at our pick?

Yeah, would have to be a full rebuild since he, and Kemba could never work together defensively.  If that's the plan then they could give it a shot, but it could get ugly some games with the amount of shots/bad shots Young takes.  Still need more defensive toughness since we've been like Swiss cheese all season.  I can't really believe how bad they are defensively.  Young and Monk at the same time would be even worse.  We'd give up 200 per game, but would be entertaining like the old school Nuggets.

I think with Monk's "benching", he had to learn some semblance of Defense right?

And I think Young would be able to take control of those shots int he Pro's. Only reason he does it at OU is the lack of talent around him at OU. If you notice, when his players are not finishing his perfect passes, he starts to press.

Guards: Kemba, Monk, Bacon, MCW.. we have decent guards (minus MCW, but he's gone this offseason) even if we decide to move on from Kemba as our #1 option..

Wings: MKG, Lamb, Graham, Batum.. aside from Lamb (who only decide to turn it "ON" this year) we have below average to piss-poor wing scorers.. THIS is the area of need.. what was the last Wing-Scorer we could really lean on as a team?  - Captain Jack??

Bigs: Marvin, Frank, Dwight, Zeller.. this looks more and more like a 90s front-court, but their is obvious talent there.. we just need to decide to change with the times..

I mean I think Young and Monk could play together, and would be fun to watch.  They are both frail as fug though so I'd be concerned we couldn't stop anyone since they are smallish guards.  I also agree about him pressing there towards the end of the season which caused most of his struggles.  It might be time to just go for it, and start over.  I mean it would suck to lose Kemba, but it's not like we're making the playoffs yearly or anything.

That's the thing, man. This team is so weird, we're getting almost a prime Dwight at parts during the Season, an All-Star Kemba, and we still suck. It's so odd to watch.

I hate to start this again, but Donovan Mitchell would have been a great pick.  He would have had to come off the bench obviously with Cliff, but I think to a lesser extent than Monk. I was definitely on the Monk bandwagon at the time, and still think he can be a 20ppg type player in the league, but he probably wasn't the right choice for us.  Of course the jury is still out as to who becomes a better player.  We just seem to make the wrong choice every damn year it seems, draft, fa, on top of the league screwing us over on the regular.

He's not the right choice for Cliff man. Cliff as a Coach in 2018 values Defense wayyyyyyyyyy too much dude.

We need a Lottery pick, horribly. Not this year, clearly. But, next year. If we can get Zion, to go with Monk and Young we could be set.

I definitely agree about Cliff.  The game has passed him by.  The odd thing is we are actually scoring at a pretty good clip this year, and our defense is worse even with a legit rim protector in Dwight.  Makes no sense at all.

This team has wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much talent to be this shitty. Just with Kemba & Dwight. The rest are meh, but still. Just with those two things should be different.

No.  Move on from Kemba for Trae Young?  LOL.  No again.

Trae young is going to get bullied in the pros and wash out.  His shot selection is horrible and he is just too slight of frame...

Pretty sure they said the same thing about Steph Curry. Crazy enough, Trae has the same shot selection as Steph did when he was in his Junior year at Davidson. But, no one brings this up.

Steph had a slight frame, it's working for him fine. He won't get bullied because this NBA in THIS day and age is soft as a baby's ass. Kemba doesn't get bullied and he's like 170 pounds soaking wet. So, I damn sure don't want to hear bull poo about "being bullied."

His shot selection is because his team has zero talent around him. The "other players" for OU that are suppose to be good (Manek, McGusty, and James) shot an astounding 1-10 from the 3 point line. His shot selection is what it is because his teammates do not complete his assists, nor do they do shoot well. As you can tell from the stat above. I got news for ya, if he's there at 11 or 12 (or where ever we pick this year) we need to take him. Even if there's a slim ass margin, he could turn into Steph Curry. WE HAVE TO TAKE THAT CHANCE. YOUR mentality, is mostly the reason we're in this bull poo in the first place. Not taking chances on players that could become studs (Beal, DeAndre Jordan, Booker, etc.) or not playing those players. It's time to go "outside of the box" and get some players with potential. Instead of Drafting the Frank Kaminskys, and Cody Zellers of the world, and picking the "safe" fuging pick.

If there's an ounce of a chance we could get Steph "lite" in Trae Young, I got news for ya, that's better than Kemba Walker, and WE HAVE TO TAKE THAT CHANCE.

We gotta start trading assets man. I don't want to see half of these players on the roster next year.

    • Exactly the type of thing he would have done here. The excuse people were stannin’ so hard claiming he would have looked just as bad. Just not true.
    • Yes and there aren't 32 starting QBs in the league either. Too many teams and too many games. The NFL has regressed over the years and game quality is lacking. The other leagues are supposed to be farm leagues but it doesn't matter. You just won't have 32 no matter what they do. The move to super athletes playing QB at all levels has lead to this. It used to be those guys played other positions but now they are QBs who can't really QB.  It has a trickle down effect too. OL can't block because they never had to. The fact that in today's game your QB must be able to run at least a little to survive is evidence of this as well. IMO they have ruined the game same as with the NBA. It's been simplified to the point of being boring.  Just look at the top 10 this season. Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs) Joe Burrow (Bengals) Josh Allen (Bills) Lamar Jackson (Ravens) Dak Prescott (Cowboys) Jalen Hurts (Eagles) Brock Purdy (49ers) Jordan Love (Packers) Justin Herbert (Chargers) Matthew Stafford (Rams) Once we get to number 5 the stats look like this: 167 262 1,845 63.7 7.0 10 8 65 18 84.5   47.5   10 TDs and 8 INTs??? At number 5??? There was a time not that long ago that he wouldn't even be a starter.
    • I'm not convinced that the NFL is any better or worse at developing QBs now than they were 20 years ago.  I mean I'm sure there are some developmental issues at play, just not sure it is any different than it has been. The biggest difference IMO is that NFL teams are waaaaaaaay more willing to invest a 1st round pick into a QB now than they were 15-20 years ago.  A guy like Colin Kaepernick would probably be a top 5 pick in 2025, whereas he went in the 2nd in 2011.  Would a guy like Trey Lance go top 3 in 2010?  Hell no.  Look at Russell Wilson - he didn't go until the 3rd round.  The standard for being a 1st round QB has dropped. So it may seem like we're seeing more high-profile busts at the position, but we're also seeing teams reach for QBs way more than they have in the past.  Someone with Anthony Richardson's college resume doesn't go in the top 3 20 years ago.
