Man, I'm telling you, the first interview afterr he was drafted he acted like someone just ran over his puppy.

This is what I'm saying. He never seemed like he was happy to be here. I seem to remember a team pic and everyone else looks so happy and he looks like he's being held hostage

Was this the same interview where they asked him about if he had any familiarity with Charlotte and raising his family here and he said something along the lines and he said you can't drop roots because you never know where you'll be once the contract is up. I know I paraphrased a lot but I remember either after he was drafted or the year after he said something along those lines.

Almost 20 million guaranteed at signing.

Star was certainly a quality starter for us, but the huddle has tended to overrate him to a degree.

Star got a longer deal yes but we don’t know what the true guarantees are for either deal. I don’t think Poe got that much less at all.

I agree I was never concerned about losing him. Poe is better.

Listen up.

Anyone that knows anything about Star knows that he is 10000% a family man. Whatever team was going to take care of his family long term was getting his services.

Can't say anything bad about that.

Seriously, never blame a player for taking more money. We would all do the same under similar circumstances.

"Poe graded out as the 40th-ranked player at his position in 2017, per Pro Football Focus, a whopping 76 spots higher than Lotulelei. Poe is arguably the more athletic pass-rusher of the two, if a lesser run-stopper."

---Marc Sessler,  NFL.com

"By adding Poe, the Panthers are getting a tackle with a proven track record of run stopping and a newly-rejuvenated ability to get after the quarterback. That’s exactly the kind of dynamics that made Lotulelei so promising early on in his career.

Essentially, Carolina is getting one year younger, 30 pounds heavier, and a whole long hungrier right in the middle of their defensive front."

---Tim Weaver,  USA Today
