That was the problem with you and others ever thinking Butler was drafted to replace Star. They are NOT the same type of players. Just cause they are both considered defensive tackles means nothing. 

Butler is NOT a nose tackle.

Huge signing here, figuratively and literally.  3 year deal sure sounds a lot better than a 5 year deal to Star.  We still have to upgrade the secondary if we are to have any chance against the Saints.

Ok.   I'll go on record by saying this is the most entertaining off-season I have ever had.  Just for the simple fact that I thought this was gonna be a Hurnwreck.  Almost giddy right now.  Guess I'll be nervous as hell for the wreck to show up at the draft.

NT was a massive huge hole once Star turned the Panthers contract down. Massive, the size of the grand canyon. 

 

Butler wouldn't have been able to command double and triple teams from olines, Star and Poe can. This helps Short, Addison, Peppers and the LBs perform better.

I completely understand that never give the enemy credit lol but really like come on step back Poe has the stats but also the eye test tells you Atl D looked fairly good with Poe in the middle but next to KK whewww that's nasty.

We do but do you get C graded players just to fill a position or A graded players to hold down the most important part the trenches. Seems like a win win dominant up front sure fire recipe for Wins.

Exactly.  Many if ya remember that disaster of a season when we had a weakness at NT (Fua).  Getting gashed up the middle for 6-7 yards a pop sucked.  Pie is s great signing.  A big space eater that had a lot more athleticism and quickness than Star.

They were a good defense last year, but they weren't as good last year with Poe as they were with the DTs they used in 2016.  Their defense took a step backwards last year.
