How? That’s the stat. You can complain about Butler but all 4 of the other 1sts were starters. Also, Butler wasn’t some top 10 pick. He was picked 30th. KB was 28th and Shaq was 25th (I think). From 25-32, what’s the typically starter %? Is it better than 67%? If Hunter and Derrick were all pros, I’d be more pissed but I’m not going to get pissed when I know there are always better picks that slip. It always happens unless you drafted Tom Brady or Antonio Brown or any other best pick of the entire draft.

Also, like Funchess how about we let the players develop?

How? Because my first statement said I didn't like first round picks riding the bench. Then you argued semantics over that statement, changing my words to "pine". You then changed the argument that only one player isn't a starter, but of course you're talking about at this moment, and not what my original statement was referring to, which was that it's taken years before they've become starters.

Jesus. It's not that hard to disagree. I can understand if you're insecure about your views on Gettleman's drafts, but otherwise leave it be.

Our D line is shaping up nicely.

Addison | Poe | Short | Peppers

Hall | Love | Butler | Draft pick

Jist need an infusion of youth at DE and we’ll be sitting pretty.

Don’t discount Wes Horton. He had his best year as a pro last season and really made some nice plays.  He is 28, and only going into his 6th season.  He may be a late bloomer like Addison was.

Late 1st round picks aren’t always immediate starters, it happens. Some are complete busts. None of Gettleman’s have been busts and 3 of the 5 were immediate and solid contributors. Also, why would i be insecure? No need to be condescending, we just disagree. I’ll admit that I liked the Butler pick and thought he was playing well in preseason until he took that illegal shot. I think he’s going to have a solid year. Hard to be a starter when we resigned Short, but he’ll continue to contribute.

Because I don't care if you make a post stating you love Gettleman's drafts. I do care if someone replies to me making a joke about his BPA philosophy.

What happens if God forbid KK goes down with an injury.  To me, it's worth more for the Panthers to hold onto Butler even in a backup role than to trade him unless something great comes along...  Butler is probably going to get at least a 1/3 of the snaps this year regardless.  I'm not saying it's not a disappointment given where he was drafted, but he's not garbage either and for a team built to win now, he can be an important part
