Had to lookup Green. He wouldn’t be good for us this year. Not a good pick IMHO. We’ve got 5 DEs. I’d rather take a S and interior OL. Moton can be LG but they seem to want him to be a tackle and Larsen and Van Roten are depth.

Several scouts have said Green would be a sure thing 100% top 5 pick if he stayed in school another year. If we want to solve the DE problem for the future that is the pick to make. Sit and learn behind Pep this year while maybe contributing in the rotation and he'll be ready to go in a year or two. The guy is a complete monster who fits in perfectly with our scheme, can drop back in cover, bats passes like no one else, stop the run and rush the passer from the inside or out. He'd be better than Greg Hardy ever was here by year 3, and Hardy was a force in 2013.

Green is definitely intriguing, but I don't know about all that "better than Greg Hardy ever was here by year 3" stuff. Hardy had back to back 11 and 15 sack seasons. That matches Peppers' best back to back seasons sack total and the 15 actually surpasses Peppers' single season best. Hardy was crazy and a black eye on the franchise in general, but at his best he was really, REALLY damn good on the field.

god damn it hurney i want to hate you

You'll love him this year if we win it all and we'll all be cursing him again in 2 years when we have no cap space and probably suck. Hopefully our new GM can draft well early on, because he'll need to for us to stay competitive.
