I agree a first is too much but a first rounder is not a guaranteed starter, while Thomas is not only a guaranteed starter but guaranteed top 3 player at his position and arguably THE best. “Guarantee” for both obviously hinging on health.

Gareon Conley, William Jackson III, DJ Humphries, Darqueze Dennard, Bjorn Werner=the last 5 #24 overall picks.  Compared to a surefire Hall of Famer with experience, likely some good years left, a position of need, and spitting on the grave of the Seahawks?  I prefer the latter personally.  Especially after not retaining Star or Norwell.

Didn’t Thomas consider retiring after his injury and asked the Cowboys to get him right in front of the camera on national TV. Sounds like his head isn’t in the game to me and would be too big of a gamble...
