Az seemed to be in limbo no qb and what seems to be their second or third choice in coach in Houston you also have no income tax so I'd say that's fairly close in payout. With Houston being everything for young man with money it's a easy decision to me.

Go sign Reid or Burnett. Hell bring both of them in. Might be able to afford both for about the same price as Mathieu.

We need two safeties.  Adams is fine as depth.  But we need two new starters.  Losing Breeland means we will have to use an early pick on CB, so we need to lock down the safety positions now.

Basically betting on himself. With no one willing to give him a big guaranteed deal (likely due to past durability concerns) he only signs for one year and he'll hit the open market again next year. If he can play all 16 games again this year that should alleviate a lot of the injury concerns and he'll likely be poised to cash in. If he had it to do over again he probably would've swallowed his pride and took that pay cut in AZ but I'm sure he never anticipated the market for his services would be this soft. I certainly didn't either.

Did anyone in this thread actually see Mathieu play last season? He fell off hard, Tre Boston outplayed him.
