I beg to differ. Anything is possible.

(edit: you said solid. i see that now.) but still! this is the NFL. What exactly is solid?

I am the biggest proponent of any given Sunday mentality.

However. We aren’t even through the draft and people all of this board are already claiming we have “solid” chance to win a SB. We haven’t even had OTA’s or Minicamp yet. It is their word choice not mine, I would suggest you ask them.

This mentality is like releasing a power ranking every week of the offseason. It has no, I repeat absolutely no affect on game one of the season.

How would you restructure his contract. He makes 20.7M a year

For context Kirk Cousins makes 28.0M a year.

lets see what you got.

Convert Cams entire base salary of 14.5 million into a signing bonus, spreads over the last 3 years of the deal for cap hit and frees up almost 10 million in cap space. He gets a check upfront for almost 15 mil that is now fully guaranteed he was gonna get anyway. Easy as that.

Restructure doesnt mean pay cut and annual salary isnt the cap number just fyi...

Rapaport already said Poe is 8 million a year. So that drops our cap to 9 million.

I seriously doubt Cam is going to get restructured. That dude is going to play out this contract and get paid either here or somewhere else. We all know Cam.

Mathieu I doubt is going to go less then 6-8 this season, most likely a lot more.

I mean if your comfortable not paying our rookies and going into the season with zero cap money. More power to you.

That or we got to trade someone good and clear up some space.

As I understand it there's ways to restructure him that could clear up space without an overall paycut.

Cam ain't gonna restructure poo, nor should he.

Restructure doesnt mean pay cut bud. All it means is you convert the base salary into a signing bonus he gets upfront fully guaranteed. Doesnt add or take money from the player. Just lets the team spread the cap hit over the remaining years of his contract.

That’s very true is cap hit this year is actually 21.5 not 20.7

And? His base salary is 14.5 million... which is what you convert to a signing bonus. Again, annual salary numbers are not the same as cap numbers.

The numbers still hold true. His cap hit would still reduce almost 10 million this year freeing up the cap space by restructuring the base salary (which is 14.5)
