Worley was a project. How many years did it take JNO to come into his prime. I unlike most people do not like the move of letting him go. But that’s just me. He learned a lot last year.

Torrey Smith is 28, and hasn’t had a good season in 3 years. He would have gone for the lower payday if he really wanted to come here.

As this thread is about, football first mentality. Perhaps he will have a breakout year. As I’ve said until September this is all just hypotheticals.

J-No had 4 interceptions as a rookie during practice and had a pick 6 in the preseason his rookie year.  Norman had potential and instincts from day 1, but just had a big jump in competition coming from Coastal Carolina and had to learn how to play within the scheme and not freestyle.

Worley is a solid tackler.  That is the only area where he excels as a professional football player.  Worley looked lost basically from day 1, and to say he improved in coverage is a stretch.  He had stretches where he played ok, but he never showed any dynamic ability at this level.  He got thrown to wolves from day 1 which wasn't his fault, but he didn't back up his level of ego in his own ability by any measure,

Don’t think we can afford him... but of course that never stopped Hurney1.0

Might not stop Hurney 2.0 either... there is obviously quite a bit of pressure to perform again this season with a new owner coming in.  I can say this though, signing Breeland and Poe to reasonable deals and trading a malcontent to get a veteran WR who can start is a far cry from overpaying 2 RB's when you have have Cam Newton and trading up for Everette Brown and Armanti Edwards

Both were... but then Capt was inactive against his former team (Vikings) and then kept his mouth shut.  Worley didn't and kept complaining that he was too good to have to rotate with Seymour.

Rivera might not be Belichick or Parcells, but he low-key gets rid of guys who don't buy into the system...

Same thing with KB- he left practice and then got traded.

But hey, when you've made the playoffs 4 out of the last 5 years with a SB appearance and 3 divisional round appearances you get some latitude both with the locker room and ownership to do some like that.

Rivera at this point is one of the most powerful coaches in the league outside of guys like Belichick, Carroll, Payton, Gruden, and McCarthy

I wouldn't bet on him even having played football in high school.

He might be a kid trying to use a fake persona to get people to listen to him, which is kind of pathetic. In my opinion, the more likely scenario is he's a middle-aged guy who probably thinks he's funny but isnt.

He likely doesn't have much credibility or reputation among his social circle in real life. Thus, he tries using a fake persona to get attention here, even if it's negative.

And yes, that would be infinitely more pathetic.

Whether you have to pretend to be something you're not to get people to listen to you, or you're just so desperate for attention that you act like someone half your age to annoy people, sinking to this level is probably a good reason to take a step back, look in the mirror and ask yourself what the hell you're doing.

It's a message board for discussing football. If you see it as more than that, that's just sad.

It's always interesting to read an elaborate fantasy that another individual has built about you in their mind.

Personally, I've always preferred that individual to be a beautiful woman, but as I get on in years, it is more and more guys like this - Big Gulp types with red faces and important opinions. I guess I'll take what I can get.

I did play football in high school - pretty well. I also played in college - pretty badly. Standard Peter Principle athletic career. I got over my own limitations many years ago - you should do the same.

As for my age, "middle-aged" feels more generous by the year. So thank you for that.

Amusing to hear someone who's posting under a fake image talk about fantasizing.

Bottom line: Nobody believes you are what you claim to be, and no one gives a rat's ass about your opinion, especially in regard to Newton.

You're going to a lot of effort for no worthwhile reason, and it's pretty pathetic.

I've said several times that the username was a mistake - I never should have advertised who I am or what I've done. I guess it was a brief fit of ego. The truth is, I don't want anything I say here to be linked to myself, my career, my legacy, or my family. There's just too many weirdos out there. And I've never been prepared to "back it up" by revealing my name or resume. But the mistake is made...so I'll just keep posting about football, thanks.

(The sad thing is that there are more than enough clues for any idiot here to put it together, so I constantly have to wonder if guys like you just genuinely don't like my views, or are over-zealous fans of a certain school.)

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
