I don't necessarily buy it either, but you have to admit it's interesting how quickly Shula was hired with the Giants. There's no way Gettleman had no input in that. Not with his ego.

As far as Gettleman in NY, there's no qualms about it, that's a tough gig over there. If the Giants don't have a winning season this year, he's going to start feeling the heat quickly. Fair or not, that's the way it is, and it's been that way with that market for a long time. They finally ran off Tom Coughlin after two Super Bowl wins, and it seemed like every damn year he was there talk in some form that he could be on the way out was prevalent. Meanwhile he's helped the Jags build a formidable contender.

norwell’s an asset. we got an insane amount of value out of him since he was picked up as a udfa.

You didn't quite get my point back a few years ago.  But I do applaud your memory

We were out of the playoff picture and I wanted to look to next season.  Play a lot of these guys in real time and in real games and know if your back ups were worth a crap or not.  It was not about DA replacing Cam, but there was not much use in not getting something out of the last few weeks of the season beyond stats.

Usually when players don't want to play for a franchise its because that team has been losing for a long time (Browns Raiders ) type streaks or the team plays in real bad weather.  The Panthers haven't had any of those problems

Ron knew Norv would be here for this upcoming season. It's something that was in the works for quite some time. There wasn't much of a point in switching up the offense for just one season when he knew he'd have his guy for the next.

Gettleman has no clue how to evaluate LT's. I think that is safe to say at this point.
