Kind of ironic. We get Matt Kalil and...

Im starting to question if players actually want to play in charlotte, are the Panthers actually attractive to the players?

Only those who have ties to the area. Most guys want big markets, historical teams, or  South Florida. We only get local guys or ones we overpay

Before we salute Gettleman's greatness, let's see how well Solder holds up this year. Kalil looked good to him last offseason, too. Perhaps overpaying LTs is Gettlemagic's kryptonite.

I think in this market you just have to over pay if you need help. These bad teams with huge cash reserves are making the FA market crazy. I think us and the eagles have the better approach. Getting guys on trade to keep some cash.

The easy answer is stopgap last season, Solder this season.  But, ignore the irony...and the obvious.

Saying the word "stopgap" means nothing.  Who was the "stopgap" guy available and would sign for one season?  There were about 3 seasons where there was nothing to be had as far as a LT and Kalil, like him or not, was the best available

The Giants wanted Solder when he was drafted but the Pats took him 2 spots in front of them, so now he is a Giant

Well,  we are kind of in flux,  but, truly, it's all about the money (or lack thereof).

The locker room is still strong.  We still have Cam,  Olsen and TD. We'll be alright.

I also think that Turner's approach to Cam getting the ball out quicker will also help improve the entire OL's play.   Wasn't Matt Kalil a Pro-Bowler when Turner was the OC in Minnesota?

Easy answer: Andrew Whitworth.

Seems like I remember Russell Okung and Kelvin Beacham being available too.

Was Solder available when we signed Kalil?  Who was?

Yeah, that's what I thought

This.

This pro/anti-Gettleman, pro/anti-Hurney bullshit is beyond old. There's a handful of very vocal posters in each camp that just can't help themselves but to try to turn every thread into pro/anti-Gettleman and/or pro/anti-Hurney.

GTFO it already.
