Developing Trade pending with Raiders

Byrd has had one good game and got hurt in every game he appeared in.  Samuel was a 2nd round rookie who spent the entire offseason and early parts of the season injured.  When he finally got healthy, the coaches traded KB because of how he was looking in practice and wanted to get him more looks.  He was showing improvement each game and I think he has a ton of upside.  Samuel is not expendable, Byrd might be and definitely is if we can bring in better receivers.

We did not trade KB because of how Samuel looked in practice.

Byrd has shown he can play whenever he’s been given an opportunity. I don’t give a sh!t what round Samuel was drafted in and my guess is neither does Marty, since that was another Gettleman reach.

Byrd has shown a lot more than Samuel has and that is a fact.

Yep.  Byrd is good and is why we shouldn't have traded for Smith.

Why waste a pick which is ridiculous when and if he is released and get for nothing. We need all picks we have for draft.

Eh, Crabtree is better than any pick we'd get for a 7th.

I think the best 7th rounder we've ever done is Captain Munnerlyn and Crabtree is better than him too.

1. A 7th rounder under Hurney shouldn’t be considered a draft pick. It’s a throwaway at best.

2. Crabtree on the open market would get over $10million per year and we wouldn’t stand a chance.

Now do you understand?

Because if he hits the open market with the way receiver contracts are going you'd have to pay him a lot more money...if we trade for him or whomever they are locked into their current deal..so if you can get a proven guy for a 7th rd pick that night not even make the team even if they play well(i.e. Harrison Butker ) its not a terrible idea

You cut out a bidding war.  I, normally, have the same mindset but a 7th round pick for a quality receiver and you don't have to get in a bidding war is worth the move.
