Would prefer a rookie wr in the 1st, but this wouldn't be a bad idea. Safety/G in the 1st if we trade for Crab.

Still not opposed to taking one in the 1st if there's a good one available or even in the 2nd.  Funchess, Crabtree, Smith, Samuel, Draft Pick, and maybe Byrd if we keep a 6th WR, although I think he's expendable if we can get a better option.

You could walk into any office in the NFL now and find dozens of trade offers.  We are probably offering players, picks etc to multiple teams for multiple players and picks

But until someone bites, it is not news.

This is interesting, probably won't happen, but interesting view behind the curtain

Maybe Byrd? Byrd is better than Samuel

That or the figment of some idiots imagination.

True, but it seems plausible, so you'd think the made up stuff would be more sensational.

Getting rid of Crabtree and his salary and age while getting anything back for him would be a win for the Raiders I'd say

Over the past 10 years, there have been 810 players drafted in the 6th and 7th rounds of the NFL Draft. Only 13 of them have ever made a Pro Bowl (4 of them were for Special Teams).

This equates to a 1.6% chance of anyone drafted after the 5th round making a Pro Bowl.

Obviously, a Pro Bowl appearance isn't the only way to determine whether a player is good, but if you can turn that 1.6% chance into a proven commodity, you do it every time. I'll never understand NFL organization's fascination with draft picks.

We did that last year... Funchess isn't very good.

If you are a naysayer of the Kelvin trade, you don't read enough.  Hurney made the right call.  We have 2 tall and slow receivers with similar skill sets, destroying our run game.  Post Kelvin: run game goes up by average of 50 yards.  The mistake wasn't trading Kelvin.  It was not signing more depth after releasing him.  After Byrd and Samuel both went down, we lost the war of attrition.

you posted this at 9, which is 6 in the morning in California...

Just an FYI, so are the Raiders even up that early?

Its free agency season. I'm sure most front offices in the league haven't gotten any sleep since Sunday
