The kind of hits Cam has to routinely absorb thanks to NFL officials treating him like a running back (even when he is in the pocket) has to be taking years off his career.   

Having witnessed the condition of former NFL players in their 40's and 50's hobbled by old injuries, I wouldn't blame Cam if he chooses to retire in a few years.  

What good is all that money if you are in constant pain and can't enjoy it?

You are right, chances are Cam will choose to go for a record deal in a few more years. However, it isn't like he doesn't already have enough money to live out the rest of his life in a fashion most of us can only dream of.
