Back to back seasons averaging under 4ypc. Here's how bad Stew was overall last year....

If you subtract his two good games (17 carries for 110 yards vs. Miami and 16 carries for 103 yards vs. Minnesota) then he averaged 2.8ypc while rushing for a total of 3 TDs in the other 14 regular season games.

Hence why I set the over/under at 3ypc next year. Stew is just not an NFL caliber RB at this point.

YPC isn't the only metric that matters. He still does certain things really well. 3YPC in a reduced role as a situational player would be perfectly acceptable for him. But he could be a 4YPC guy who could predict that. He still has a place in the NFL.

Signed by the same guy who would have cut him, had he himself not gotten shitcanned this year.  Irony at its best.

True, but this shows me that Gettleman likely would've tried to pull a CJ with Stew. Cut him then sign him back for significantly less. It was time for us to simply thank Stew for a great career here and wish him well in the future.

shula did a good job with that zone blocking scheme that made stew effective late in his career. this is not a bad move tbh, especially since it's not shula calling the plays.

i hope he has fifteen great games.

Shurmur has already said Shula will more than likely call the plays. He worded carefully though.
