Breeland a Panther

Not necessarily.  Speaking as a Gettlemen defender I am infinity more confident in his ability to identify a player that fits the team over Hurney any day.  But I would still wait to decide if his gamble paid off until the season is over.

You see, unlike most of you Gman haters we dont think every player we sign is the missing piece before they every suit up or think a draft pick is a bust after one season.

Why do we need “defenders” and “haters”. I fuging loves Gettleman, loved his FA moves, roster cuts, send Norman packing all good. Looking back over his drafts and seeing first rounds of Star, KB, Shaq, and Butler are disappointing. I loved Marty when he was here, I hated that he payed both Stewart and Williams and fuging James Anderson and that stupid Delhomme extension. I also hated the Everette Brown trade for what it did to the future. I think that Dave is a better Pro evaluator and midround evaluator. Hurney is a better 1st round evaluator and meshes well with the players. Neither are perfect and we have who we have

Yes I’m aware but a WR is more important to our success than a Breeland is

Last I checked we put up 26 in the playoffs with Byrd/Samuel hurt and no Torrey Smith last year (and that was with a Gano missed FG and being in FG range at the end of the game...), yet we had ZERO answer for Brees all of last year. CB was absolutely a bigger concern this year than WR and it's not even close. To get a legit starter for $8M/year at CB compared to an upside flyer on a #3 WR in this market is a freaking no brainer. I'm starting to be with you, wanting a bonafide true #1 receiver. But it just wasn't going to happen this year for good reason. Neither Robinson or Watkins were worth what they got, considering both have serious risk involved. Nobody else came close to #1 WR and were not worth what they got paid. We gotta go draft and hope for a guy like Moore, Kirk or (very unlikely, but I still have hope) Ridley.

the seahawks also “backed into the playoffs” with a losing record under carroll and schneider and followed that up with a losing season before they had their 2012-2014 run

and also, 80% playoff qualification rate

what else you got?

The Seahawks were one play away from winning back to back Super Bowl's while we couldn't even sniff the playoffs the year after our appearance, but because they also happened to make the playoffs with a losing record one time like us, that's actually somehow a silver lining to you? Yikes. Whatever works I guess.

It’s Ridley or bust.

And Breeland isn’t going to stop Brees lol. Thomas went for 6 for 91 against him.

Its 2018 and offense can win you championships and last time I checked the strength of this team was Cam Newton. So the smart thing to do is give him actual WR’s but apparently we’ll just continue to waste his career.

Yeah, I'll take Torrey Smith and Breeland over a Paul Richardson or Donte Moncrief level WR signing. What we need more than anything on the offensive side of the ball is better situational offensive play calling and hopefully Norv Turner will take care of that.

Norv Turner...just call him the answer

Redskins don't have our front 7. If we get a good safety and a rotational DE, this D will be very good to great.

from the looks of it, a sub .500 record as a career executive hits the spot for you

I'm nervous about how much our outlook hinges on Peppers' decision. If he's not back then all of a sudden Wes Horton is a starting DE for us and our depth consists completely of unproven young players.

If you're suggesting I am a Hurney guy or something, we both know that isn't the case. I've already succinctly stated I didn't want him to return as GM. I've been quite clear about that. But we're here, so I'm just hoping for the best.

I've made no attempt to defend Hurney's failures. Can you say the same for Gettleman?
