I'll never be a fan of Hurney, and I hopes he loses his job when the new ownership roles in, but I can't complain about our current offseason acquisitions so far.

Hurney is incrementally upgrading the team as best he can. Hurney didn't draft Worley, who has the maneuverability of a LB, to start at CB, but he's fixed the disaster. So far so good.

Breeland has been up and down for most of his career but from what i have seen and read he was trending up coming off this past season. He was actually asking for more money from the skins so that implied that he was trying to capitalize off the good season he had but they wouldn't budge. So he will either keep improving here or we will see the inconsistencies that he is known for. Hope he improves.

ok i know most of the huddle is going to agree that breeland is better than worley, but is he 7+ million dollars a year better?

Well he is a starting caliber NFL player where Worley isn't so that's a good start

I think most Panthers fans, myself included, want a top WR due to the mess created by drafting the bust KB, but this FA market is going to make some WRs crazy money for their ability level. Hurney might just stay out of it.

When you're caught in a bad emergency situation it's very difficult to negotiate a great deal. You have to spend a bit more than you would like to get out of that situation.

Is Breeland and Smith enough of an upgrade over Worley and Shepard to warrant $11M of the cap this year? I'm legit curious because I don't know much about Breeland or Torrey Smith.
