DT Depth

Recommended Posts

I think what is being kind of overlooked is that some of the top vet DTs out there are getting snatched up. We knew Star was gone. Many, including myself, thought that Ngata and Kyle Williams could have been good value signings to provide some experience and depth at the DT position.

Buffalo is taking Star and keeping Kyle: http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22745636/buffalo-bills-keep-dt-kyle-williams-add-dt-star-lotulelei

Ngata is supposedly signing with the Eagles: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/eagles-add-to-nfls-best-defensive-line-with-a-one-year-deal-for-haloti-ngata/

Who else is out there that could be a decent signing to provide some experience and depth? There can only be so many 330 LB vets out there that fit the our needs.

It's an issue that will determine the outcome of the season more than any of these wr's the huddle nimrod's are clamoring over.

The defense is going to need a lot off talent upgrades and they have little to no money to do it with.

The draft will not fix this on one off-season.

I'm a lot more concerned with getting Peppers back as a stopgap at DE and fixing the secondary than I am about DT. We have a former 1st round pick that needs a real opportunity to show what he can do and we have a serviceable stop gap space eater in Kyle Love. I'm honestly not that concerned about DT at the moment in the short-term.

we're filling holes and creating other holes. At this point, we shouldn't have traded for Smith since there's no intention of filling the corner position with something better than what we had, which was terrible to begin with. Depth on DL is the least of our concern, esp DT. We are fine here.

It's time to see what Butler has. No more waiting, no more excuses. If he can't get on the field, find someone who can.

We've overinvested in the middle of the DL while plugging in bandaids at best at DE and now our only hope at DE is a soon to be 39 year old who might just retire.

We already have something in Seymour that's not worse than what we had in Worley. It's pretty much a wash. We got a WR that fills a niche that we needed in exchange for a CB we seemed ready to give up on anyway.
