The update is slightly comforting. If he retires, that sucks but I get it. The man is pushing 40. Gotta hang up the cleats at some point.

It has a huge impact on this coming season. It's the difference between DE being a huge future need vs. DE being a huge immediate need.

Right. No matter what, DE needs to be addressed. Pepper gives us a little time to get it addressed, as he gives Hall a chance to develop for a year and any other rookie DE we pickup. What I think is going to happen is we’re going to have to spend some money on one next year. Sad thing is Mario is getting up there in age as well.

I bet we draft a guy in the 2nd/3rd this year and hope that he and/or Hall/Obada/Cox can develop. If Pep doesn't come back though we're in rough shape this year.

I don’t think he wants to play anywhere else. Came back because he played college ball here and started his pro career here. Probably wants to either play here one more year or call it quits

Other than a few stop gaps along the way and Greg Hardy who was already here and pissed his career away, what have we accomplished at DE in terms of developing talent the last 5 years? Kony Ealy? Yikes.

Addison has developed nicely under this staff.

Horton has a solid role and has improved every year.

Half right, Addison is a Beane guy. Horton was a part of Gettleman's 2013 UFDA signings.
