The problem you are missing is that he's no longer a highly rated center.   He's all reputation and no benefit in relation to his cost.  You don't pay that kind of cash for moral support.  It's time to cut bait and let Larsen hold the spot until another pro bowl center is drafted.

Well, our opinions will differ, I guess.

I never once mentioned $10M in savings because it isn't accurate. It IS accurate that he has a nearly $10M cap hit. You're reading too much into it and imagining that's what the poster was implying.

OR what you think you were saying. Geez, get over yourself. I get you don't like me, tough poo. Like I said, don't jump on me for reading the posts the same as everyone else is.

They will.   But I'm resigned to the fact that Ryan will get to finish out the season most likely on the bench or IR and collect his fat retirement check because family and all.

Ahahahahaha!!! You're trip. I don't dislike you. I'm simply saying that here you are trying to basically put words in my mouth saying I was implying something that in no way was communicated. Like I said, you read too much into it. Now you're all butthurt and pissed off about it and I'm laughing. Thanks for that I guess.

The issue I see with all the sudden hand wringing about saving so much money by cutting Ryan Kalil is just a year ago quite a few of you were fine with throwing 50 million at his brother Matt. The supposed bonus at the time was the fact that they were related and Ryan would help elevate Matt's game. Welp......

Now suddenly we need to get Ryan out the door immediately. Well where was this urgency last year? We could have signed Whitlock at LT for a little less while still being able to pay Ted Ginn, and moved on from R Kalil if need be. Instead now not only is Ryan set to retire after this upcoming season anyway, we are stuck with Matt Kalil for at least this season and probably the next.

I love watching TheRed talk to himself....he always pull some poo from nowhere/unrelated and thinks he's making a point.

1.) no one wanted Matt Kalil - citation needed
2.) yea last year was last year and Ryan was coming off an injury with expectations of actually....playing...he barely did so when we go ahead and add that there 2+2 we get 4.
3.) Hard to elevate play when you're on the bench see point 2.
4.) err plenty of/most people wanted Whitlock among others and Ted Ginn especially over some Sheppard and Kalil.
5.) wtf is your point? i suspect some thinly veiled something or another.

Iight cut em both then. Looks like we are in fuggin rebuild mode anyway. Not signing poo letting all pros go to keep 3 1 year vets. Gotta love this team.

SMDH

It’s the Panther way.  After 20+ years I am finally indifferent to what happens.  I have zero faith in anything this franchise does.  I’m of the opinion that they have wasted Cams best years and this coming season will be nothing better than 8-8.   I totally understand why Pep wouldn’t come back, this is a train wreck.

Panthers could convert all but $1.015M of Ryan Kalil $4.5M base salary into signing bonus along with his $1.5M 3rd day of league year roster bonus while adding 4 dummy/voidable years to create $3.988M of cap room. There would be $3.988M of dead money in 2019 when Kalil retires.

Bull fuging poo on the Ted Ginn comment, you lot jumped over any poster who argued that letting him go with virtually  no replacement was top 5 of GettleGod's worst moves ever made here.

Which, in hindsight, is correct.
